How do you smooth out those arms? Do you cut those ridges off/shave them, or do you apply something over them to smooth them out?

I hate those ******** ridges! I think they are for painting stripes or something, but nobody paints them, they apply decals that need a flat surface. Guys like me who paint 100% don't use them to paint on either.:fghttt:
