For all the reasons listed and simply because I'm just getting back into MF and to play in any league is impossible due to dinstance and time restraints.

I'm playing my first solitaire league; just like I did when I was a kid. Only know I'm building that football history that has been mentioned, and loving it.

Some night I'll put up some info on my league, how I run it, and my future plans.

I love reading all about other leages and incorporating things I find interesting.

Off to finish my Week 2 ECFA game between Kentucky and Purdue. It's a one-point game in the fourth quarter. UK are riding a 5-game winning streak over two seasons.

They've only played five games.

great post. most rasons already listed. i think, generally, its the cost of travel that is the number 1 thing regarding the majority.....just watch gas prices in the next 4 days, it will most likely go above 3 bux a gallon by sunday evening.

that said, i had a call from an old friend, derrick leffal, yesterday, he says he has been enjoying a pro and a college solitaire league for quite a while now. it was great to hear from him again too. almost got me to play a game today...but im holding out to play the last AFL season, i still need 3 more teams, then im set.

What's the attraction to solitaire? Well, for starters, where else can I play with a bunch of Fairies and not have to listen to a bunch of whispering? ;)
What I like best is knowing that the teams playing each other are, for the most part, fairly equal. That on any given day, any team can win. I get to try out different formations and plays and just sit back and watch what happens, without worring about winning or losing. The little guys play to entertain me, I don't get caught up in having to win, because I'm actually coaching both teams. :rnt; :rnt; These are MY teams, and MY league. I'm having fun, and that's what it's all about.
Besides, when I want to play against someone else, I just let them use one of my teams. It helps me out with the season, and hopefully, they had as much fun as I did. frstplc ppls$ thmbsp$

How true and that's what I love about it. You never know what a player is going to do. You take him through the workouts and expect him to do one thing and he may totally fool you and do something else.

One other thing I enjoy is just looking at the teams down low on the field, like when the offense and defense is at the line of scrimmage. You see the realism that you always wanted and you're living out a childhood dream!

Right on the money Al. That's what it's all about. Teams in your league have infinate possibilities but it all comes down to the games and the entertainment it provides. I love reading about your league because it is unique. I have spent time trying to think up teams like yours just for fun. Here are some of my zany ideas.

An all prison team using ficticious names from all football movies.

A team of Star Troopers coached by Darth Vader.

A team of astronauts called The Right Stuff wearing the bulky NASA spacesuits.

A team of comic superheros.

A team of sumo wrestlers wearing their numbers on their fanny belts.

A team called Woodstock with players wearing psycodelic hippy clothes.

Historical team of real Roman Trojan soldiers. A natural rival to the Ra.

A team of real indians like Crazy Horse and Cochise with numbers war painted on their backs.

Just a few silly ideas.
