I have a story about running out of gas by Joe Louis arena that is just funny.
Here it is.
We were on our way to see the Lions in 1990 . We were driving from Columbus to Detroit.
I was running out of gas and had to get off the freeway to find a gas station . I happened to run out of gas right in front of Joe Louis arena, lucky for me I was able to coast into a gas station. While I was pumping gas , a group of 10-12 guys came walking up to me. All I know is I hear the car doors lock , from the inside and I was outside the car :confused: . As the group of guys got closer to me . I finished pumping gas and was walking up to pay , when they walked by they said what's up , I responded with not much. They walked on by me and that was that.
I get back to the car and my Wife unlocks the door and lets me in my car. The other couple traveling with us { Nancy and Brian , I will call them that to protect their identity } says that they were scared and asked what the group of guys said to me . I told them that the group of guys said, that I never should return to this neighborhood again or it will not be good for me.:D
Brian states to me that if there were any problems, he would have jumped out of the car and helped me out . He is 5' 4" and weighs 120 lbs. :D
Later that night at the Hotel , my Wife tells me that Brian was the one that locked the doors.
I know it is a long story but it was funny at the time.
