Biglock...you said it...

Whatever helps the players!

We enjoy watching them try and knock eachother out each week, but the toll on their bodies and minds is tremendous. It would be nice if they could do that AND have some kind of normal life after football. With all the money the NFL makes, they owe it to these guys to make that a reality

In addition to the head and neck injuries, you would think it would also help cut down on injuries that are caused by helmet to "other body parts" contact...being that the outer shell is softer.

And...after looking at the thumbnail from ESPN, I see the side angle shows they tried to incorporate the new facemask into more of a design element...it goes back quite a bit farther on the sides than the first pic would suggest...so maybe not so much of a throwback look afterall...

I am undecided still, it looks petty horrible to me, but if it's safer who am I to object. I guess it would grow on me. Did they have to use the Bills as an example??!!! I thought the helmet was ugly enough already! :rtfl:

Anything's better than getting slammed to the ground face first and the bars shattering in your face!!! Here's what Paul Brown came up with years ago to prevent sky-rocketing orthodantia bills. thmbsp$
