thank you thmbsp$

I made some pics of the work of yesterday evening, but with daylight instead of neon. But it's raining, so the camera saturated the pics again... :D

you can see that the black ink lining is not too strong : it is just to separate the diferent colors, not to add a new one.

fake decals

Hi,

tonight I posed the "decals" on the figs. Like for the first #66 figure I made, it 's just some miggle stickers I re-shaped and hide under a good coat of mat medium :D

BTW, I've got decal paper, a printer and software...but sometimes I like to be not logical :rtfl:

tomorrow I'll finish to integrate front numbers with the same technic, than add some shading on it.

front numbers
first coats for gloves and elbow protections

Tommorow I'll make some corrections on numbers, finish the gloves and make the socks and shoes ;)

thank you ! If I go up with the rythmn of work, I should finish the whole theam (2 11figs squads) before the end of the year.

this week end, I hope these figs will be done and I'll go for the 6 other ones to complete the O squad. It will be longer I guess since I'll do a lot of 100% customized figs, since there is a lot of "stars" positions to do (QB, TE, RB, WR...)

For the D squad I'll make it simplier. No real face and real decals, and very light custom (only arms and helmet mods, and perhaps some big men for line).

Then next year, I'll go for another team...and certainly another board (3rd, perhaps with removable field if I find the way to make it) for it. It could be fun to make an european real team. Perhaps I'll could find a sponsor :rtfl:

and beside of that...I've got other projects ( fantasy football, stadiums and a PRO project : athletes figures and field accessories original sculpting, since it's part of my real job, even if I don't know if I will cast it myself or find a company to sell the masters).

I've created this with my 308. The field is attached to the frame using Velcro. I can remove it and replace with another field if I choose.

the french guy 11-12-2009 04:17 AM

yes I remember, now, you already spoke about it on my board topic....but how do you attach the motors on it ? do you glue it each time you change ?

thanks

detroitchild 11-12-2009 10:21 AM

I'm experimenting using velcro on the motors as well. I'm still investigating the best way to attach them.

the french guy 11-12-2009 10:26 AM

On my own board, I obtained the better result glueing the brass plate directly on the fiberboard. Since I use high speed motors and light weight counterweights, I obtain a game really smooth and not "bumpy" at all on 5 to 9/10 power level adjustement.

When I experimented double sided foam tape, I had to make bigger counters weight, increasing the "bumpy" effect also.

Removable fields is really interesting, but I don't see what I should do to make it eficient too...

detroitchild 11-12-2009 10:33 AM

Since it's becoming less expensive to purchase motors perhaps you could get one (or 2) for each removable board.

Just a thought.

the french guy 11-12-2009 11:21 AM

Yes, it could be solution. I ordered 4 motors for almost nothing (10euros), so I'll try it I believe...

almost finished

Hi,

I almost finished the painting of my linemen. I painted the gloves, the pants stripes and made the chinstraps and helmet details.

Now, I have to do the helmets logos and stripes, jersey shoulder numbers and stripes, and it will be finished. :D

I will not detail the shoes and stuff like that, I bet on the mass effect to make the team good looking. I just can't take hours and hours to make the same details I did on my #66 center figure...irrealistic if I want to play this team in the next months.

I particulary like the numers #62 and #68. The #68 because I believe he looks like Woody Arelson :rtfl: more seriously because his face is expressive, and the #62 for his attitude ("you'll not pass, believe me" :D ) and skin colour effects.

to be continued...

Treks1 11-13-2009 04:19 PM

WOW!! :D More eye candy! This is a perfect paint-job. AWESOME!

thank you ltsplbll

Here's the last stages for tonight. I made the jersey and helmet stripes. I bought new brushes, the job was a LOT easier than on the first figure I've done. I obtained the same result for 4 figures in the time I spent on the first one

Sorry for the pics quality, I need to charge my camera battery I was not able to make other pics.

Tomorrow morning, I'll finish them I hope (helmet logos and shoulder numbers...tuff job). Tomorrow afternoon, I play hlmt$

If I 've got some time, I'll start the last O squad customs sunday. thmbsp$

Hi,

I finished the figures this evening, after my game. I made the glossy varnish for the helmets, and tonight I posed the matte varnish coat on the figs themselves, now everything 's drying (see the pics).

Tomorrow, I'll pose the masks and the turf flock. Perhaps I'll pose the masks this night, if I'm not too tired :D

Thank you !

Unfortunatly, 80% of the face disapears under the mask...typically a modellist problem (like in model railroad, the men how details trains interiors wich nobody will see :D )

here 's the almost final result (even if the pic is quite satured because of the light), with facemasks and varnish. Tomorrow, I'll make the base details, and final daylight pics.

Simply outstanding!

I'm working on my 49er team using some of what you've showed us. I'm taking my time because this team won't be used until next Fall so I can slowly learn this stuff. I'll post picks in a about a week.

Thanks Dmitri. thmbsp$

Hi,

the figures are 100% finished. I made the bases flock and painting.

This week end I'll write the complete how to article for MFCA.org thmbsp$

...and I'll submit a couple of photos for the contest too, as soon as the weather will be better (because of the light...it's raining for the last 3weeks, here...) ;)

No J.Montana this time, since I'll make the main 2009-2010 roster, so I'll make Alex Smith (sadly... :rtfl: )

thank you for the kind words !

I hope it too... :rtfl:

Yesterday when I played my game with my brother (Niners vs Packers) I made a so big mistake with my QB (interception of the packers, on 1st and 10 on the packers 15yards line...gosh...), I believe I wanted to play like the real thing too much... :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl:
