CHANGES
COACHES,
1)46, I WILL CHANGE YOU TO THE HORIZON LEAGUE. 2)DRK, PLEASE CHOOSE A CONFERENCE FROM THE LANE. The indepedant conference does not have a decent logo 3)batman, The ACC is taken already by the french guy. Please choose The atlantic 10 or another conference. thanx mantaraydre |
Okay, can I go with this?
I found a painter and have some teams lined up. Here's what I have planned.
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will house the following teams: University of Minnesota Golden Gophers (primary), University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, Bemidji State University Beavers The Big Sky will house the following teams: North Dakota State University Bison (primary), University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux, BYU That changes my secondary team from BYU to NDSU. NDSU and UND are both division IAA. UMD and BSU are both members of the NSIC a division II conference. UMD is the current national champions and they also were national champions two years ago. Here's a link to the NSIC web site for the logo: http://www.northernsun.org/Sport.cfm?SportID=6 I'm going with a small number of teams for no other reason than to keep costs down. I will do a schedule with each team playing conference opponents twice and non-conference once for six games each. Let me know if any of this does not work. Let the Row Show Roll! |
Just noticed...
...that I listed (primary) for both Minnistoa and North Dakota. University of Minnesota is my primary, and North Dakota State University is my secondary.
No one has said otherwise here so I assume my proposed set up is okay........... Let the Row Show Roll! |
DRK
DRK,
Thanks, i would have asked you eventually. Also, why don't you put the minnesota helmet up as your avatar. i noticed you do not have one. i love my san diego state helmet. mantaraydre |
USD's helmet is the bomb!
Makes me want to change my high school to the Aztecs; not very fitting here in MN though unless we went with the the 'frozen aztecs":rtfl:
Getting an avatar is on my short list of things to do but I have a very long short list and haven't gotten to that one yet. How should an image for an avatar be formatted? Also, how do some guys Roo has one, do the avatars that change? Let the Row Show Roll! |

I did git-r-done with the original helmet but this one is top notch looking; thanks.
Now I want to know how those changing avatarts are done. Al has one with his fantasy team logos. I'll post a new thread and ask him how to do it. We need one more coach to get to 20 teams. Any interest? Let the Row Show Roll! |
Are we playing a 6 game schedule or 8 game schedule. I think we need to do the same no matter what it is.
|
6 EACH
COACHES,
Your primary and secondary will have to play 6 games each. Mantaraydre |
HEISMAN
COACHES
Start thinking about it. Soon i will ask for your heisman hopefuls. We will just do offense this year. The list will consist of players from your primary and secondary teams. For example san diego state heismann hopefuls 1)brian sipe 2)marshall faulk 3)issac curtis 4)webster slaughter 5)pending south carolina gamecocks 1)george rodgers 2)sterling sharp 3)sidney rice 4)pending 5)pending ***OVERALL, GIVE ME TEN PLAYERS. primary 5 secondary 5 positions only being looked at this year 1)qb 2)rb 3)wr Start thinking about your teams star players. or players you can make stars ON THE FIELD. mantaraydre |
Player Names
So, do we need to give names to all the players on the teams or just the Heisman candidates?
|
ROSTER
COACHES,
please think about your rosters. We are going to do full rosters. We will still keep stats for 1)tackles 2)interceptions 3)sacks ***when i make any team i usually do an all-time roster. I never understood why some coaches like current rosters. look on wikipedia for names. DRK, if it were me, i would have 1)bronco nagurski 2)lawrence maroney as my running backs. nagurski is a legend and maroney was a monster in college. ***Please note the 1)qb 2)running back 3)wr sections will all be separated and in their own category qb's i know of so far are 1)#9 BRIAN SIPE (SAN DIEGO STATE) 2)#11 A.M. DEAL (SOUTH CAROLINA) 3)#17 DON MEREDITH (SMU) 4)BEAU MORGAN (AIRFORCE) 5)JOHNNY MCGOVERN (MINNESOTA) 6)JEFF BENTRIM (SOUTH DAKOTA) 7) 8) 9) 10) RUNNING BACKS 1)#28 MARSHALL FAULK (SAN DIEGO STATE) 2)#38 GEORGE RODGERS (SOUTH CAROLINA) 3)#3 BRONCO NAGURSKI (MINNESOTA) 4)#29 ERIC DICKERSON (SMU) 5)BRUCE SMITH (MINNESOTA) 6)CHRIS HOWARD (AIR FORCE) 7)TYLER ROEHL (SOUTH DAKOTA) 8)LAMAR GORDON (SOUTH DAKOTA) 6) 7) 8) 9) 10) WR'S 1)#4 SIDNEY RICE (SOUTH CAROLINA) 2)#2 STERLING SHARPE (SOUTH CAROLINA) 3)#22 ISSAC CURTIS (SAN DIEGO STATE) 4)#84 WEBSTER SLAUGHTER (SAN DIEGO STATE) 5)#25 HAVEN MOSES (SAN DIEGO STATE ) 6)GARY GARRISON (SAN DIEGO STATE ) 7)#88 RAYMOND BERRY (SMU) 8) 9) 10) THE HEISMAN WATCH IS ON ! MANTARAYDRE |
The Big Nag is the man!
He will be my go to guy. I live only about 80 miles from Nagurski's home town; International Falls. Nagurski Oil is still in operation and family owned.

Rosters
So we need rosters for just the primary and secondary teams then; correct? I'll go with all time teams as well.
Batman, looks like you're going with 'ironman' squads. That's my plan too. Anyone else doing 11 member ironman teams? With an ironman roster are you going with 11 guys playing both ways or will each figure represent two different players; one offense and one defense? What about numbers? Do you make sure all jersey numbers are what each player actually wore, ie. Nagurski has to be number 3, or do you assign them any old number you have abvailable. I'll probably have to go with the later just to keep it simple for now. Perhaps enough two way players could be found to go with just eleven roster names. Using Nagurski again as the example. love that guy, as he played both FB and T. Was All-American at both by the way. Let the Row Show Roll! |
NUMBERS
COACHES,
yes you just the the entire roster for your PRY AND SEC teams. you can number them however you want. i like to get their actual number. Iron man squads are fine to keep it simple. I assuming everyone is not playing injuries. im not so it is no need for me to create addl players then what's needed. mantaraydre. |
HEISMANN CHANGE
COACHES
HEISSMAN WATCH CHANGE. !!!!!!!!! Instead of giving me five from each team (PRY AND SEC) just provide up to five for each team. meaning If you only want to submit just 2 from a team, thats fine. mantaraydre |

DRK,
Here is the BRONK !!!!!!!!! MANTARAYDRE |
Army-Navy
I have painted up both an Army and Navy team to put into the same Conference with Air Force. I wll send you my rosters and schedules shortly.
Mike |
ARMY NAVY.
WOOD,
Remember, i am only collecting the rosters for your primary and secondary teams. But you can have as many teams as you want in your conferences mantaraydre |
I'll put UE and JMU rosters together shortly. They are being painted up now. All teams I'm doing for my two conferences will be part of the ECFA Division I-AA league, and games will also count for this league as well.
All my teams will be 11-man ironman teams (Miggle Big Men) with color coordinated bases to the school colors. Games will be four 10-play quarters with all other ECFA rules in place. The I-AA champion will be granted a I-A expansion slot for next season, and will be replaced in it's conference by a I-AA expansion team. So, if Dayton, for example, wins the Bear Bryant Bowl, they'll move up and someone new from that region would join the Pioneer League. Ed |
