What!!!

Dre! You have a league about to jump off and I didn't know anything about it? Hey I'm in buddy! Reg called me today! Well you know what rules I prefer but I truly don't care what you choose to use. I'm in!

Mr. National I'm coming for you sir! Me & my Donovan McNabb TTQB. Lol

NATIONAL 01-14-2008 02:42 PM

Bring it

I know that QB won't make it thru the airport security. If you make it to the east coast give me a holla. I have to see if Morgan is really using the 49ers, if not, I might can get in. You guys have to post some start and end dates!!!
Too bad, they are playing your rules. I wouldl love to see you out of your element???? That rockets you right to the top spot, or #2 behind Reg. I know you got skillz, but I'm dying to see them at 3.2, and different rules!!!!!!

I'm not saying you can't do it! Just I can't wait for it! It's always tough getting use to new rules. Take it from Mr. NATIONAL. They get all jammed up, and I forget what league I'm playing in. I'm asking for the box, when it's not allowed, or looking for the passing target when it's not even in the rules!!

See you when I come out there for the DFW super bowl!

Hook'em Horns 01-14-2008 03:50 PM

You got it buddy!!!

Lol...That was funny! So you asked for the box and they looked at you funny huh? Haha. I would have been rolling! Well that's bound to happen at the SWB this year! I'll be there, fully equipped at 3.2 under a new style of rules. I'll be ready for Earl Campbell too! Lol.

Hey Mike, You Can Start Painting Your Redskins

Hey mike,

I know the redskins are your favorite team and they were open so i penciled them in for you. You said you wanted to paint another team so here you go ! WOW, MIKE ROBERTSON AND REG RUTLEDGE IN NEW YORK, THAT'S MINIATURE FOOTBALL AT IT'S BEST. Im going to see if jimbo wants to come here, also vince peatros. If some coaches from california want to come here, we will go there. I need an excuse to hit the west coast.

Hey mike/reg, you think dewoyne would want to come, i think he said he has a sister that lives here. Please ask him when you get a chance

Wally, Dre and Mozeek

Thanks for all your work so far in establishing more EF on the East Coast. As I mentioned to Wally I am just getting back into the game and playing in the NYEFL this year - my first league in many, many years. The guys in the league are great. I think all of this was just happening so fast - driven by the sheer excitement and anticipation of what could be!

My question is - what is next? As I told Wally I coach in the spring and really need to know details. Will there be some soon? I would like to play and would like to play with the Packers as that is the team I have ready and am currently using. But, I need more info before I can make a definite commitment.

mozeek 01-15-2008 11:22 AM

what's next

well first i feel as though we need a couple of venues to play at...and also we need to discuss somethings internally before we open up to all....like dates, when the league will start....and so on but just keep your eyes open and continue to check in here because we will post on here when everything will get started.......artlax pm me your info please.....

You are more than welcome to take the Dallas Cowboys. You would deserve them. This league is for people in the New York area and satellite regions. I am just going to be consulting with the founders of the league, not playing in it. It would be an unfair advantage if I played at this point.

I see a greater need to educate coaches on how to play under this style so they can get the maximum fun from it. The funny part is that you may be a much bigger fan of the Cowboys than I am. Yes, I like the Cowboys but I like every team in the NFL pretty equally. You ask me historical information on any team in the NFL and I can spit it out like a computer.

This league has the potential to fill up pretty fast, I guarantee that! If you are interested in a team such as the Cowboys, this may be the best time-the charter members.

So think about coming on board early on instead of waiting. From your messages, there's no doubt you have great passion and would be a tremendous asset for the league. This will be one of the premiere leagues in the country. Once you get use to the style of play, you will gain a strong insight as to the logic of what the rules do.

Hey! guys, I'm new here but not to the game. and I would like to take the time to say Hi to you all. I was a member of the NYEFL and I might have some free time coming up soon and was thinking about getting back into the hobby but the thing is, I don't like some of the rules that we played by in New York. like stacking and the locking of arms of the O-line, if that that part of the rules change I would like to come back and play :o

Reginald Rutledge 01-16-2008 05:49 AM

Attn: Andre KC

My name is Reginald Rutledge and I will be acting as a consultant for the New York League. I am a member of the DFW League which plays under this system. I can tell you the logic behind the rules that you are referring to. Maybe it will enlighten you, as I do hope. I would like to address those two areas for you.

First, the locking of the arms of the O Linemen. I appreciate your concerns regarding this. As you know, these are inanimate objects. All things like reality can not be accomplished using these figures but it can be pretty close. One of the first questions we always ask is, "Can that be done in the real game?" If it can be, then we think we should be able to implement it into our game. On any level of football, you can have close line play. Teams can have their linemen very close together. It's really up to them. In close quarters, linemen lock on to defensive linemen. The O-Line form wedges to protect QBs and sometimes runner. While there is a limit in our league for the max distance apart of one base length, it never has mattered how close together the linemen are. Even if you do have some distance in between the line, if your line runs with all Proline strong bases angled in to make a V-form, then they will still create a wedge. In our brand of football, we never create limitations on a team's offense. If his schemes are designed for power football, that's his personality. He's creating a team in his own image.

However, this is where stacking comes in at. Many people have a false concept about stacking. First, many leagues have never implemented systems to detour teams from stacking. It is my feeling that if a person has problems on stacking, there's one of three reason why that is so. They are as follows:

(1) Hearsay-something you've heard others talk about and felt the pressure of agreement to think it's bad for the game,

(2) Not having a full grasp of ways to combat against stacking because you feel the limitations of what you can do, or

(3) Lack the ability/skills to complete passes consistently with the TTQB and feel that the only fair way to give people a chance is to push the linebackers back 5 yards.

Hearsay is something that often times is just the wrong answer or its taken out of context. Many times, guys don't do the research on the Shootout Rule system, they just go by "I heard". Until leagues begin play in the system and understand the limitless possibilities, they continue to use "I hear" as a means of not trying it.

Grasping the system will be difficult at first for the players of this league. I know they will have a hard time. But once they understand that the ability to audible will make teams honest will make all the difference in the world! People don't realize that in our system, it creates an disadvantage for the defense if they audible. The movement of players for the audible is 3 to 1. This simply means, the 3 players behind the offensive line can be moved from their original spot to different places in the backfield. For instance, the QB can originally be under center. The RBs can be in an I-formation (fullback and tailback). Most people say, "That's unfair to the defense". Yeah, we know that but again, that is what stops the stack! The defense may be in an 8-player stack (in a straight line) trying to get pressure on the QB. That's his perrogative!

Well, after the 35/45 second clock goes off, the offensive team looking at the scheme the defensive team has, shifts out of that formation into a shotgun, pro set. The RBs are placed about 8 yards behind the left and right tackle angled out. The QB is shifted into a shotgun type formation. At that point, the defense only gets to move one player. Basically, he is stuck. He can move one of his linebackers out on the edge to stop one back but because he did not play an honest defense at the start, the other back has freedom to run or catch a flair pass and potentially for big yardage. The question becomes, can you hit the pass? Or if you don't want to chance it, just call a pitchout to that back. If you have taken the time to train this player to run around right or left end, this should be at least 10 yards and potentially an 80 yard jaunt.

This essentially enforces the defense to line up in an honest manner. In the DFW League, teams rarely ever try high risk defensive manuevers because we know, the opposing coaches can pass like crazy! However, a team should never be stripped of having that opportunity that is so afforded in the real game.

You may have situations where extreme measures are needed. There may be a 3rd and 8 and its in the fourth quarter. You are losing and time is running out! You have not gotten to the QB all day. But because your rules do not allow extreme blitzing, you might as well pack up your little men and head home. Oh yeah, you can hope for a miracle and hope that the outside LB will get around to hit the QB. But if the other team has continued to pick that up, there may be no other exotic schemes to allow the potential for a sack. That's why stacking is allowed. It is a high risk manuever that allows game changing plays. I may be able to stack 4 in a line and "pierce" the O-Line. I may finally be able to get the necessary heat up the middle to make the big play. However, this exotic type of scheme forces you to give up something in other areas. It's just the risk you have to take.

The last point is the lack of skill to use the TTQB. It has been my experience that most that have issues with stacking tend to also not be a very accurate passer. That's something that most will not admit because their pride is questioned essentially. I promise you, if you master the techniques of passing with the TTQB, you will never worry about a guy stacking on you again. You will know that you are not limited to stand in the pocket and throw. With the right knowledge, you can having a rolling pocket O-line and QB and make for an easier throw. The defense will not take such exotic chances to stop you. They will remain in Cover 2 or 3-Deep type zones because they know you will be able to burn them with the pass. So practice with this TTQB. He should not be used as an excuse for not allowing stacking. If the skillset to pass is high, stacking never comes up in conversations.

I will attach the initial and before snap (audible) formation of what transpires during the course of a play. I am sorry this is a lot of information but this is a very interesting topic. How many owners of an EF/MF company would take that much time to explain one facet of the game if he did not want you to grasp and hopefully embrace a system so unfamiliar to you? Give it a chance before you jump to rash judgments and it could possibly open up a whole new world of thinking for you. It certainly has for the members of the DFW, Alamo City, Las Vegas, and LAEFL leagues.

Andre, if you you find this topic uninteresting to you, please let me know so I will not waste your time showing this type of information.

Andre KC,

This is how some teams run exotic defensive schemes to get heat on the QB. This is a drastic situation that a defensive team may find himself in. Taking chances to try to get the ball back, but not accounting for all the skill players and potential holes can be frightening if you have the ability to make the defense pay.

This is What My Scheme is Based off

2 Attachment(s)
Guys have nicknamed this "The West Coast" offense. This is more of a cerebral approach to blocking in the DFW. The linemen have to be athletes who can make blocks at certain pressure points. My linemen are custom FF.COM linemen able to withstand heavy defensive pressure.

Attached is how I run my blocking scheme. This is tried and true! Presently we rank first in the DFW in Power Rankings, not because we are stronger than most but because our holes are bigger than most to run through.

Fairness is Important

Dre,

There's no need for me to play. There's no mountains to climb. No championships to win (except the DFW-LOL!).

I think that my role would be best suited as a consultant. I would like to see you guys have to play a person who knows the rules inside out and who could give you the stress levels needed to compete. Mike likes winning championships whereas I like teaching. Mike is a wonderful teacher and he will show you the nuiansces of the system too. I get more satisfaction from seeing guys learn the system and realize the possibilities that they will find out in good time.

Yes, I love the Vikings! I would love to someday play with the Vikings but this is something I think the league should approve. I think Corey hit on a outstanding point of fairness. That's the same point Rose hit on. However, you need a standard to shoot for and Mike is one. He has won 4 DFW crowns, a Texas Shootout title, and a BAMA Blast title. He wants to play. I want to teach!

Let your league decide if its to their best interest if I play. I spoke too soon when I told you I wanted to play but again, it helps having Rose to ground me. We will still come and visit. We've got great plans for the new New York League so I will be around.

love the strategy session....

Reg,
That is AWSOME detail on stratgey for the Texas shootout. Could you possibly take the time to put these posts it in its own thread. Call it "Texas shootout playbook evaluation" (or something like that) and put it in the tips section so it won't get missed and can be referenced more easily at a later time so people don't miss it.

Thanks for all you do to try to make the hobby more enjoyable to all. Its not often that we get thoughts on strategic play and I want you to know that I for one can really appreciate it.

Don't Mind Helping Out but most don't care!

What I can do for you is send you schemes via email. This is all a part of a DVD I am working on called the The West Coast Offense. I can send you information via internet or by way of telephone.

That will be easy for me than outlining a section like this if people truly don't see it as much of a need.

Reg Your Playing "many Mountains To Climb'

REG,

THE DIE HAS BEEN CAST !!!!!!!!! YOUR PLAYING. tHERE IS NO WAY I PUBLICLY REQUEST TO BEGIN A LEAGUE HERE IN NEW YORK AND SOMEONE TELLS ME THEY MAY NOT APPROVE OF A CERTAIN PERSON PLAYING. "AINT GONNA HAPPEN". (THIS IS A PERSONAL INVITE FROM ME SOLEY) . I GUARANTEE OUR COMMISSIONERS WALLY JABS AND MOZEEK WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH YOU PLAYING.

This post is not meant to strongarm anyone but this league will be ran in a professional manner FIRST AND FOREMOST. There will be no bickering about i want this or that, bickering over calls, all the little petty stuff that destroy's leagues. EVERYTHING WILL BE LAID OUT IN DETAIL AND TO THE LETTER BY WALLY AND MOZEEK.

IM VERY HAPPY THINGS GOT WORKED OUT WITH DOOMSDAY, THAT'S HOW THINGS GET ACCOMPLISHED WHEN CALMER HEADS PREVAIL. ALL COACHES (MYSELF INCLUDED) JOB SHOULD BE RUNNING INTENSE PRACTICE SESSION'S SO THEY ARE READY FOR GAMEDAY.

we all will have great fun but i dont this to turn into a place just for guy's to hang out. I WANT TO SEE COACHES HEAD'S INTO THERE GAME. wHEN YOU WATCH THE NFL, LOOK AT BELICHEK, DENVERS COACH, ALL COACHES. My dream was to bring a league to new york with the proffesionalism of the NFL. WE ALL WILL FOLLOW THE GOVERMENT PUT IN PLACE BY OUR COMMISSIONERS.

I JUST WANT TO SEE COACHES SIGN UP AND BE READY TO PLAY SOME FOOTBALL.

NOW, ONCE AGAIN "REG RUTLEDGE WITH THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS".
Now coaches will have to win in NEW YORK, the greatest city on earth.

The Pleasure is all mine

Glad to be of service to you guys. What I will do is speak with Wolf about creating a "Playbook Category" for this chatboard and see if some subcategory like Shootout Ruleset, MPFL, Strategy Divider, NHFL, Rules 2000, etc. can be made so guys wanting to show plays according to those different rulesets can do so.

These should be both diagram and actual video. With the new age of video, it would be able to show motion picture plays as they are happening. I know I could show 100s in the DFW alone, just don't get the time. But this would be a great source of information for people wanting to learn under any of those systems.

Also, you need to get some ff.com figs for your team. We are going 4.0 so you may want to upgrade. reg can explain the weight balances for all of his figures.

Adobe Illustrator, Visio, or Corel. You can instantly create a playbook based on that type of software.

If Weirdwolf opens up this type of category, I can show you textbook plays from the diagram on to the playing field. I know you can do that as well as other coaches but I honestly did not know how much of a need this type of information would be to people.
