The Board waaay in back was put on a Hockey Board.
Just got the parts to wire it up now.. I have another Hockey Table on standby... That'll give me 3 good size 4' x 2' fields to try to get some fella's around sometimes for a small tourney.. |
HOT!!!
Great idea executed to the fullest!!! |

Nice! I was toying around with that idea myself. I assume you used and air hockey table? Do you get good vibes with that and what type of motor(s) do you use? Those look great! |
Yeah It's a Air Hockey Table Board awight....
Quote:
Radio Shack carries them, I grab 8 at a time because I intend on using all 8 on the Game Board, but this Board!?, I just finished tonight wired it up Yesturday to finally tell you it's running great. I only used 4 motor's this time because the Rhoestat's are no longer around " so I been told " and the power source to make this board run is a 9 Amp Train Speed Controller.. I got used to the 8 motor's that when I adjusted everything to work the the 9 Amp there's no Dead spots still!? I see a little hesitation but not enought to be that uptight about .. Thanks fella's.... I wouldn't have done this without seeing it all from you all first wink.................smile ltsplbll |
My all new 4824T- THIN DESIGN
2 Attachment(s)
Guys,
Here is a look at my latest board, it measures 24x48 (playing surface) and its uniqueness lies in it how thin and light it is for a metal big board. I made it as thin as I could...a mere 1.75" in height (and that includes the 1/4" footings). Overall dimensions are 25.5x49.5x1.75". This is easily the finest board I've made to date. Its almost as thin as an old super bowl board. I actually can store it behind my coach in the living room as you can see from the pictures its shorter than a TTQB on a base and the low profile looks great when framed by a the Miggle stadium. Most importantly...it runs like a dream, quiet and smooth from edge to edge. Joe p.s. field cover by Jimbo (I love this Saints one but I'm about to add a couple more field covers to my collection as well) |

What a job. Your an engineering genius!!! Can't wait to see that bad boy in person. Great work Joethmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$

The field looks great, one of the great things about this hobby is all the talent and creativeness that goes into the homemade boards

The Electric Football Hall of Fame
The NFL has the Hall of Fame in Canton for all to see. Imagine if we could have our very own building as the Electric Football Hall of Fame. In it will be the busts, boards, teams and other equipment of all the electric football greats. Every year there can be an inductee ceremony open for the public to witness. Throughout the year the EFHOF could be open to the public to come and see what electric football has become.
I am only imagining. I am not suggesting that something like this should be considered. I am very much aware of the money, time, building permits, maintenance, etc. that would be needed to implement such an idea. Maurice The Electric Coach |

YO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STRAIGHT FRESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN HONESTLY SAY THIS IS THE MOST REALISTIC SCENE I HAVE SEEN ON THIS BOARD. THIS ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE A REAL GAME. GREAT BACKGROUND SCENES. How did you get the "civilian" figs in the back of the endzone? Are they pics cutout and put on oak tag or something? If not, it just gave me an idea to build on. GREAT STUFF!!!!!! PLEASE ALL, ADD MORE! Thanks, Scott |
I see some old school tactics in one of those pics. Someone has what looks like a penny tucked up under one of the Steelers in that pic.
Hooper, what did you use to make the two figures that are on your avatar? I saw those a while ago and they intrigue me every time I see them. I think they remind me of the Testors Weird-Ohs. Remember those from way back in the day? Grotesque, monsterish, cartoon type creatures in hot rods and planes, etc.. old school model kits you paint and assemble. Anyways, they remind me of that and I would like to see if you had any of those for sale, especially the one on the right in that avatar. |
Hey Hooper, the "civilian" figs in the back of the endzone are train miniatures HO scale. theyre smaller than the football figures
but not small enough to where they dont look realistic on the sidelines, and most of the train miniature figures I use were made with clear plastic squares glued to the bottom of their feet so they usually wont fall over when u turn on the board. Quote:

If they are 00 scale you coul.d use Subbuteo figures as well I will have to post some of the figures I have painted for that (but it is Soccer:o )

Hi Scott,
I have a couple of suggestions for you: 1. Contact Jerry McGhee as he could send you some other pictures of the REAL big boards that he made for Wolf and I......You already have a picture of his Vikings board. 2. There was a guy that delivered some smoking custom boards at the MFCA convention. John Martin would be the guy to contact as he bought one. They are with out a doubt the most phenominal boards that I have ever seen. With a little work, they run darn good as well. As delivered, they are a little choppy. But, as mentioned, YOU have to get some pictures of them as the frames are the best I have ever seen, the field covers excellent, the switches unique and they have the smallest and the most powerful motor that I have ever seen. I would buy one myself but, it would probably cost me my marriage.thmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$ |

In response to helping out newbies and others find boards and see whats out there, i have done nothing but copy the pics of boards already posted on the site, and just re-post them all in one thread. To keep the thread alive and vibrant, i would love for others to post their own pics of their own boards, whether a McGee or Porche big board, right on down to the Munro that was just posted yesterday and got alot of love.thmbsp$ Hey John, as you are lighting up the current cigar, post a pic of that joint! The board i mean, but you can put the cigar down at mid-field.:D :D |
Hey Scott
lol, I'll get something posted up for you w/in the next week. My board & TVCHACHI (Steeler board) were made & delivered by RollerTaco (David). He delivered a few others while at the Stearn center as well. They really are sweet boards. Missed you at the convention Scott, hopefully next year we can get you there.

Here is one for the board museum that I just acquired this morning, a Field of Dreams Monster Board by legendary board maker Bill Porche.
She is truly beautiful, all hand joined ash construction, controls on both home and visitor side, roomy sideline areas with dividers, eight motors, folding legs and a H/D duty power supply to get it all cranking. I won't even tell you how good it runs, those who have one or have played on one know. Your athletes will have the graceful silky smooth speed they need, plus all the plastic cracking smashmouth power where it counts. It has been a long time coming and I want to thank Billy for coming through with a product that exceeds what I ever thought a MF field could be. |
Board to add to the museum

Dug out this board and put out to test today. An old Gotham Joe Namath edition. Surface is fiberboard and runs really good. "Joe Namath" passing figure had a broken passing arm.

There are so many great boards out there, unbelievable. My favorites are the ivy park and the snow board from Minnesota, however I also like all the board with bleachers too. Very great ideas and constructions.
I have bought an Excalibur Board from eBay by hazard because I didn't know Miniature Football before. I was searching for a Football Boardgame Game and the Excalibur was the one I've found there. Since it's name is Vibrating Football and not Electric Football, I've searched for different Vibrating Football Games but found only the one from Excalibur. After I've got it and searched a little bit more through the web for rules and videos I've found this great community and mass information about my new hobby. The Excalibur is good to start with, I think, but as soon as I'm more familiar with the rules I'll try to get a bigger board or build my own. Here in the thread are enough incitations for a custom board. THANKS TO ALL CONSTRUCTORS! |
In my opinion, all brands are usefull to bring new people to the hobby thmbsp$
What is the size of this gameboard ? To compare to the "entry level" Miggle Rose bowl. |
wow, jerry, take a few pics of the one in the driveway.... put a figure on the hood so it wont be off topic...lol.

Mark,
This is also is my carrying case for my 1980 San Diego Chargers. I don't know if you can see it or not in this photo, but the Chargers are actually in the back along with my #1 fan! Jerry |
couple of things jerry, well, let me get drool off my lip...lol. i have the red and white vette, not the superfast one you have. your chargers look great, your carrying case looks better, but your fan looks the best. thanks.
