the first shot is of cats where i cant remember the tone. i did these guys yesterday real quick in between phone calls:fghttt: :fghttt: it was either with the coffee bean tone or the bittersweet chocolate.
the second guys are done with a burnt sienna the third set is cherry chocolate (nice dark tone) and the last guy is a combo of the sienna and the cherry chocolate. The last pic is all of the skin tone paints i used in one shot. This lighting seemed to be the best. i will try it again with the next set of pics. Now i will paint the bases, detail, seal, decal and seal again. I HATE TO DECAL, SO HERE COMES THE TOUGH PART. |

OK ALMOST DONE!!!!!!!! I LEARNED ALOT
First, i want to share with you guys what i have learned from this project thmbsp$
1. BEANUTT DECALS ARE THE BOMB!!! Coach K-Lo was tryin to tell me how easy it was, but i was resistant because decaling had been such a pain in the buttocks for so long. Finally broke out these joints i have for about 8 months and tried it. Like he said, just wet them and they slide right off. :D :D ppls$ 2. I think i might get hooked on doing the decals. 3-4yrs back in the hobby and i never thought i would say that. 3. Dont sleep on those wack "FAB 5" (not really) QB figures. I LOVE my Biletnikoff WR. so much so that i decided to accesserize him like never before...... 4. So i tried the Reg Rutledge "in flight" football. Not as good as he does it, but for my first time trying it, i love it! 5. I also tried to add shoulder pads to two guys, pictured last i think, off to the side. came out just :rllngs: alright:rllngs: , but nevertheless, with more practice, maybe i can get better and crank out some Franny J Boy lookin teams.:chr: drl$$ drl$$ :chr: 5a. I also added face masks for the first time. That wasnt as hard as i thought AND, they look better than i thought. now i wanna go back and facemask all my custom teams. 6. I tell new guys all the time, dont dive in right away. let the hobby come to you. i learned that i think i know what i am saying. though it is just my personal experience, i still feel you gotta get into different facets of the hobby when you are ready. when you are ready, only you will feel it. alright, enough jabbering. i made this final post cause the days off are over, so i have no idea when i will complete the entire team. i did take pics of 4 guys however that are done. painted, decaled, facemasked. being the dark nature of the raiders, the decals dont show up well in the pics, but they are there. also note, i know this isnt the way the uni looked exactly, but this is how i picture the early 70's raiders. mean and dark. as JIMBO says to new guys all the time, "you can do it however YOU want to. YOU are in charge, do what makes YOU happy." the very last pics will be of the Raiders in white, late 70's Stabler era. Waiting in line to be done up. that team will be done in proper attire. i know, i know, blah blah blah. ok, ok, ok, here come the pics.............. |
