This sucks! I wrote a long reply and lost it all! No time to rewrite it now. I will say that I am now leaning towards not being able to throw after the defense angles on the option.

Great points from everyone.

The question of 2-1, 3-1, 3-2, 4-2, should definitely be looked at. Colleges score at great clips so we do want to keep the exciting element of scoring.

Yall need to table this also with the Big 10 Commissioner (Greg Hardmon) and Morgan (Big East) and maybe Geno. I think Beenutt is cool with whatever decision on the option and Biglock is as well but I have not discussed this with Geno.

Coaches,
Count BIG 12 in on this as it "IS" college ball. You guys are all over it...down to minor details now. I am with Mike on the passing portion.

Glad to See My Pods out on the Left Coast Gettin' Some Due!

Coach Champ and Coach Commish,

I told yall if we could ever get away from the boiled base thing, you would definitely get some luv from the east. That is starting to happen! What you guys are doing out there is incredible. I know some of the "situations" going on and here's an alternative to what is happenin! And because yall represent what is good about this hobby, when you put it out there that yall were having something in September, I just had to figure out what to do.

Yall do know you're costing my time going to the Rose Bowl to see my Tennessee Vols match horns with the UCLA Bruins and that kind of hurt but I hope this will be well worth my time.

I was asked to give up my Shootout around Labor Day weekend but I am glad something else (really in the same mode) is happening during that same time. I will do everything possible to make as many of these I can every year. But if Tennessee comes back out there next year or the year after, I will have to sacrifice MF for my Vols. I never sacrifice against the Vols but I did this year. So "yall" have got to put on a Show! Mike and I will be arriving on that Thursday.

Also, one other thing. The boards will not be having Pledge or anything on them? They will be clean for everybody to play on an even playing surface right? Just got through speaking with a coach who had an experience with that and I would not wish to come all theway out there and something like that happened.

Just thinking?

Reg

Reg, you da man!

Thanx! We appreciate your support, and the support of everyone giving positive input to this thing. I know how pationate you college football fans are, saying that...I know that you're making a huge sacrifice by choosing the Open Run over UCLA -V- Tennie, so we will do our best to make sure the tourney is worth your time. We are doing our best to make this tourney the best over in the WEST. Hit me on the PM with your Hotel info. I think it would be good if all of the traveling coaches stay in the same hotel. I make some inquiries.

As far as boards go, we plan on having all neutral boards. Simi's and championship games will be played on the best running boards. The use of Pledge will be a non factor in this tourney. We will use a damp rag to clean our fields if they need cleaning. The playing surface of the field must be completely dry...if you can feel mositure between your index finger & thumb from whatever substance was used to clean any particular field...the field must be wiped down until there is no trace of that substance...in other words, the playing surface must be completely dry.

Pirate Rick 06-18-2008 08:53 PM

cleaning....

i use only windex on my board to clean it.... is that gonna be a issue if so no biggie i can use what ever, my field doesn,t really get that dirty, and besides.. even if it did it IS a mud field...:D :rtfl:

Shabby J 06-18-2008 09:40 PM

Bluesman280 has the filthiest board I have ever seen! What until the guys get a look at that muddy mess.

lffng$

Pirate Rick 06-18-2008 09:45 PM

yup...

i asked for alittle mud on the field when i ordered it..... guess it was hurricane season or somthin cause boy did i get mud..:rtfl: :rtfl:
but you cant deny how good it runs.

Shabby J 06-18-2008 11:22 PM

Yes, I might add, a very dirty board, but it runs like a top.

Open Run

It may be a little tough since I have a conference I have to go to on business a couple of weeks later. But I'm thinkin this should be something I should be making the trip.

Hook up with Coach J and make the trip down!

Shabby J 06-18-2008 11:35 PM

This is getting pretty big!

davidmc 06-19-2008 12:04 AM

Reg I feel you on the Vols. If the Blue was in town I would have made sure that we scheduled around it. With that said, I will still be missing Rich Rod's debut against the Fighting Irish...that's big for me considering that the world stops for me when the Blue is playing. Glad ya'll are coming, it's gone be nice!

Not So Much Worried...

about the winning and losing as I am about supporting the function and hangin' out with ERob and Coach Champion. I had not seen ERob since Memphis and he reminded me of something I had certainly forgotten. He said he would never forget it and obviously, he did not.

I get to meet a guy I know I will become fast friends with, Shabby J. If Raiderhp come, that would be nice. And I will be glad to get back with Bluesman! So many guys out West, like Marty T will be a joy to meet as well.

I know yall want to "bash my head in" but for me, that will not be the main source of coming. Yeah, I want to compete but I like to do some visiting of the stadiums in the area so I may jet away from time-to-time to make my run to the Rose Bowl and take some pics and over to SC to see the school I "should have went to".

But it will be great, coming out and hangin' with Shootout Rules-based leagues. This will be great for the CBSMF and if yall come up with a fitting solution for the option, we may have to run with that. I have not heard from Greg on his option cause I wanted him to present it as well.

I am ramblin!

Question???

I'm a little confused??? Is this open run just for college teams? Or is it for college & pro teams like the site suggests? Just wanted to know because I have a pro team but no college team but I would love to participate.

The Open Run concept is to bring what you have and fellowship with EF/MF coaches learning and sharing techniques and generally having a good old fashion EF/MF bash. We did just that...starting in March 2008 and ending in September 2008. You just missed our last meeting which was two weeks ago. On September 13th & 14th, we will be having a College Football Tourney. If you want to participate, then you still have time to build a team. Go to the web-site, read the rules, or call one of us if you need something interpreted, then sign up. You don't have to participate if you don't think you can get a college team ready in time...just come out and have a good time.

Reginald Rutledge 07-24-2008 08:05 PM

Attn: Harold Plummer

Harold,

Just come! If it gets to that, I will create a college team and just let you use them. Right now, all I have is Tennessee but I could create the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. That's a pretty easy team to do.

Let me know what's up. I always wanted to create the 1988 National Champion team. I could even create them that Thursday when I get there.

But I just want to have the chance and pleasure to meet you. I know Sacramento is about 5 hours away but it is not often I get out to the
"Left Coast".

Dude, order up a college team from Miggle, 67 Bigmen. That's what a lot of my squad is made up of, I am slowly adding some of Reggies figures as well as some other customs.

You can play and be competitive with 67 Bigmen, trust me.

Pirate Rick 07-30-2008 08:38 PM

Bad News

Well, unfortunately it looks as if I won't be attending the Open Run as I have unfortunately fallen in to the category of the recently unemployed.I've got some hot prospects out there already to take care of that situation but it looks as if me attending the Open Run is all but dead at this point.I hope to get an opportunity to see some of you gusy soon.
