My first "road trip" league - Great Lakes EFL

I've always wanted to play in an established league where there are a lot of coaches, they get together at the same place each week, and enjoy top competition and lots of fellowship. The closest I've come to that is the NHFL (which was fun) but there's still something to the same group of guys getting together weekly for a local league!

I know many of you have road-tripped it and been members of leagues across the country. Have always admired and envied that. This year I've decided to join the Great Lakes EFL in Detroit for their fall season. My wife was cool with it (especially since her girls weekend falls on the same weekend as Beltsville causing me not to go to that tourney).

I've always enjoyed my times on the board and at the events with the Michigan guys - Jimmy D, Chuck, Norbert, Ken, Greg, etc. I'm sure I'll take my lumps and learn a lot - but most importantly have a lot of fun.

Hope to get my league games in during two long weekends in the fall and look forward to making many new friends.

You will love it. Great Lakes is the place to be. Our playoff games remind me of the Vikings-Saints Game and some games are defensive as evidenced by my 14-7 loss in the divisional playoffs. This looks like real football and even some of our skeptics were jumping up and down. The twists and turns are so realistic that the fans are much more involved. Can't be beat! DON'T MISS OUT!

Onward and Upward!

I like the explanation and yes I know of the many twists and turns that The Shootout Style has to offer. I also understand that you guys are nearing the end of another outstanding and exciting year....at what point will you guys have an idea of what teams will be available for next season?

What team are you interested in? If you go to GLEFL.com you can see the teams that were not represented. There were a couple of teams that dropped out so I don't know that their status is. Jim would know more about that now than I.
