Toughest Quarterbacks

Kilmer(don't laugh, he played with a seperated shoulder and stomach virus against the Redskins as a Saints QB, as well as other injuries sustained with the Saints)
Favre (nuff said)
Kapp (just liked old Injun Joe)
McMahon (he thought he was an o lineman)
Bradshaw (Alzado said the one QB who cussed him and said he would
kick his A** after getting planted by Alzado)
YA Tittle (remember the picture of him on his knees during the
title game)hlmt$

George Blanda
Ken Stabler
Archie Manning

any QB that played for for the 49ers when they had that thin artificial field has to be considered tough:)

and Roger Staubach

Ram29Jackson you're right about poor old Archie. When he had an o-line and a little talent around him you only got a small glimpse of what he could do.
In the '78 and '79 seasons he was and I believe still is the best sleight of hand QB I have seen. The Saints ran some unorthodox running and passing plays back then where Archie would tuck the ball in or hold it on his hip, or pass to an area where the receiver would be waiting. If you remember the Pro Bowl after the "79 season 5 Saints went and dominated that game.
I think Archie was player of the game(?) but am not sure.hlmt$

Ram29Jackson you're right again, JOHN BRODIE

On of the more recent ones that gets over looked sometimes is Steve McNair. Since Favre is no longer playing, I would say he is the toughest in the NFL at the moment.

maybe the year they went to the super bowl- titans-
but I would disagree cause he got injured too often- therefore, not tough-enough

honorable mention
Lynn Dickey- always seemed to keep coming back-
Steve Grogan

any QB from the beginning of football till the 70s-
you had to get rid of the ball and run away or get pounded, until rules changes

Toughest QB

#1. JOE KAPP, I mean , look at the cat, man. Scar on his chin from a bar fight.....one bad dude!
#2. Y.A. Tittle.....just a tough guy!

Johnny Unitas.
Jim Parker told a story that he missed a block and the defender hit Unitas in the mouth and knocked out 5-6 teeth. Parker said Unitas took mud from the field and packed it into the area where his teeth used to be to stop the bleeding . Then led the Colts on a 2 minute drive to win the game.
