Custom Bengals Board Finished!!!
5 Attachment(s)
I just finished my newest creation... My new custom Bengals PBS Stadium. It features home and away on off controls, with the home team controlling the speed, and a recessed super smooth control knob. Its field dimensions are 24" x 48" and the play surface is in scale and all graphics are dimensioned and positioned according to exact PBS specifications.
I will post some video when I get a chance. It plays really well and is smooth all over the board! Here are the pictures below. I also included some pictures of my Bengals players and team on the field.ltsplbll |

That's some nice woodworking! Beautiful field! I love the set-in switches! That is the perfect green grass for up North fields!
Did you do the graphics? |
Board Power
It runs off of a DC wall wart at 1.5V DC and 600mah. The jack is visible in the picture of the home controls (it is to the LEFT of the control knob). I only use one motor (I prefer only one motor) but it is easily expandible to 4 or more with an upgrade to a higher voltage and mah wall wart. It is rated up to 12VDC and several amps of power.
I actually have it wired ready to accept a timer and buzzer as well when I perfect that system. Thanks for the accolades, D Roller |
WOW
Smooth field.
Very even field. Love the switches. This joint is straight baaaad! i give a " 10 " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice job. and you know what, the part we dont give enough credit to - NICE PICS MAN. CLEAR AND SHARP. WISH I COULD DO THAT. Scott |

Field Graphics
Weirdwolf,
I created the field in AutoCAD first to achieve the right dimensions then I used photoshop with help from photographs and NFL field specifications to achieve the right look and coloring. The endzone graphics were drawn custom along with the bengal at the 50 yard line in photoshop as well. I really appreciate all of your complements and encouragement! Anyone have any suggestions for my next board? I need a creative muse... |
That board and team would be a great addition to our league in Mid- Ohio. hint... hint
We even have 3 guys that live in the Cincinnatti area and 1 in Trotwood , so that way you would not have to travel very far to play some games. :D |
Holy COW !!!!
Wow...that board is GREAT !!!! Very professional and it appears you have done just about every step yourself down to using Auto Cad...
Did you a make the DC motor that runs off the wall wart? Joe Ram |

Thought so...
SEE, I KNEW IT...LOL...:rtfl:
What I meant by build was...did you use the basic DC motor with a "nut" on it style you see in some of the older "build your own board guides" or did you purchase one set up for MF from one of the kind folks on this site, or some other style. Thx, Joe Ram |
wow...simply beautiful

This is sharp!
We keep pushing the envelope of creativity. This board, the way you presented it is very professional.
Try making a 49ers board....we beat you guys twice in the big game! Maybe you can exact some revenge. :rtfl: Very nice D roller. Post some video if you have it, I would love to see this thing perform. the F.O.T.H. |
Joe Ram Motor Question
Joe Ram,
I did build the motor set-up myself. I used a standard hobby type motor with a flat housing (easier to mount) and I used a small eccentric weight to provide the vibration. I think it was WallyJ that said you dont need a bunch of motors, just one good one. When I first began building boards, the motors and eccentric weights I used were just TOO stong. They would vibrate so violently that they would literally launch players off the board if it was turned up too high! It was like an ejection seat! ltsplbll |
get with Megawatts

can you get with Megawatts about your motors (and setup)... he needs the info........ k-lo |

Thanks for the pictures of the bottom, and the Video's. But am I the only one who can't hear the sound when the video is run ???
|
Video Sound
Steelerfan,
The videos don't have sound. My wife has the video camera this weekend so I used my digital camera to capture the video which doesn't have the ability to record sound. I will take some better video when I get it back which will include sound.ltsplbll |
Nice craftmanship! It appears that is a 2'x4' fiber board screwed in from the under side. I've tried similar screw mounting on fiber board but its still a bit loud (but it might be due to the motor being a bit strong). How is the sound?
Again, great job its a very beautiful board. Joe |
Look
PM me with a price for the NY Giants. Also include how long it will take and if you have paypal.
Only concern I have is the sound, but fiberboard normally cuts that down. |
THAT IS A SWEET SET UP!!!
GREAT WORK!!! Man, this hobby is evolving so FAST!!! Do you cats feel it too? ppcrn |
