What if...The Seawall Brawl goes to College???

Who'd be interested to play for the National Championship I proposed in another thread instead of NFL? Cast your vote and then, if you would be more interested in having a 65 team National Championship Tourney - just like basketball - then RSVP your team.

JIMBO 11-13-2006 11:18 PM

Oh yeah

Gimme ARMY. BEAT NAVY! BEAT AIR FORCE!

RooMorgans 11-13-2006 11:31 PM

Given what the tournament is about, who it benefits, and the real meaning of the event, I think we could play with Martian teams and it wouldn't matter.

Pro or college is fine by me. College is probably preferred, because I like how it opens up the rules set (full house backfields, etc.).

My take

Jimbo,

I couldn't make it last year but I hope to be there in 07. As for teams? With DC having the college event I would prefer this one to stay Pro teams. If DC drops the college tourney then I'd like to see at least one college tourney in the year. Just my thoughts.........

Jimbo,

Now a 65 man "king of the board" college tournament sounds very interesting.......

RAIDERMAN 11-14-2006 09:30 AM

True

That is true IF you actually get 65 peeps to show up. Not likely. Miggle gets that many but that is the most populated event of the year. I've never seen more than 42 participants at a tourney other than Miggle. That one year at Winter Fest that room was PACKED out. I think George said he had 42 sign up that year. I'd love to be part of a bracket like that but realistically I don't see 65 people showing up.

Can't Vote

Can't vote because my preference is not listed.

I like Roo's idea of playing with Martian teams. LOL!

Seriously, I like the idea of requiring everyone to play with a team of their own making. I believe that the NHFL does this. It would be more fun to me to see people come up with creative team concepts. We don't need to pigeon-hole ourselves into this either pro or college stuff.

Go Chess Men!!!!

Biglock 11-15-2006 11:34 PM

I agree with Frank

It wouldnt matter pro or college, but I feel the Seawall Brawl is unique in that is open to all figures, so it should be open to all types of team creation as well, I don't want to see it mimic any other tourney, that is what was so special about it , its not like anything else.

Coach K-LO 11-16-2006 02:32 PM

Frank might be on to somthing..... How about those drafted teams from off ****le site??

The Kid 11-17-2006 12:45 AM

college or pro

For me I personally don't care,

The way I see all that coaches need for this tournament is their abilities and they better be on point because changing from pro to collegiate isn't gonna stop the fact that the champ is tryin 2 repeat this coming Brawl.

Whether u change to college or stay in the pros, the people's champ is coming take first place once again, so basically choose who u want to win the championship, MY Ravens or MY Tarheels.

The choice is yours.

One Luv,
The Champ AKA The Kid

I've told the MFU guys that I would like to see the Brawl stay pro, at least one more year. Mainly because some the things Bill and I have planned were contingent on a pro motif. However, If this becomes a comes a college tournament for 07 then we'll just have to adapt our plans.

I've already spoken to Tom Johnson one of the main promoters of college EF, and will defer to his expertise should our tournament go college.

Last year we didn't specify what kind of teams to bring, however most of the coaches instinctively brought pro. It really didn't matter what types of teams were being used as long as they adhered to the policy of Offense in dark and Defense in white. This year will be a little different in the sense that if this is a pro tourney bring a pro team; if it's college bring a college squad.

We plan to have fun no matter what kind of teams are being used.

Mike Carr 11-20-2006 03:52 PM

Jimbo

If I play count me in for Ohio State.

JIMBO 11-20-2006 04:06 PM

I'm Confused

Mike Carr lives in Temple, Maryland; has a Walter Payton avatar; and wants to play with Ohio State...??? :D:D :D

Just joking with you, Mike. I'm surprised nobody else jumped on them. Oh well, I'd like to try to keep this on a 1st come 1st serve basis, that is until 20 OSU's and 20 USC's and another 20 UM's show up, right?

TheTweakFreak 11-20-2006 07:49 PM

I don't think you can go wrong with Pro, College or Fantasy. If college I would like to run with Nebraska.

I'm not too concerned about the potential rules differences between Pro and College formats. I just wanna play a little, hang out and have some fun.

brawl

Don: I would not be opposed to playing with any team, college, pro or you name it. I would enjoy playing with my NHFL Brookeville Bombers team. If you wanted to open the rules up to adopt real “old school” rules to accommodate the full backfield it may fun with the strategy divider. Ray F.

OldSchool 11-21-2006 10:01 AM

Ray...

I don't know how long Jimbo is fielding votes for the next tournament. But I'm sure if it goes college the rules will be amended accordingly.

Also I still need an email from you, about what we discussed.

Peace,

Don

Jamel_G 11-21-2006 03:08 PM

I will be attending

Hey guys I'm a rookie coach from michigan. I will be attending and would like to play with the U of Miami Hurricanes college and we will see if it's pro. Thank you.

Place Your Vote

...this ain't Florida where we're gonna wait around for the hanging chad votes to be counted. :D

Place your vote on page 1 of this thread.

The Kid 11-22-2006 03:59 AM

Brady 4 Heisman????

Since we are doing this college pro thing on a first come first serve basis and also seeing as how I am the champ, here are my picks:

Pro- Like I said before the Baltimore Ravens

College- earlier I brought up the Tarheels of North Carolina, but as I thought about it on my way to the last home football game, it would be more fitting if I was the Notre Dame, 10-1, best quarterback in the nation, about to whoop up on the USC Trojans, Fighting Irish!!!!

Folks I bleed blue, gold, and green, therefore I shall rep my college.

Oh and remember there are no AP or BCS poles in this tourney, so if you want to meet me in the big dance, beat everyone on your side of the bracket.

One Luv

...with Army? They just lost - again - to Navy! 4 losses in a row for the Army Seniors. I'd like to initiate the MFU version of the Commander in Chief's Trophy.

If you served, paint up a squad and we'll duke it on the side for the CIC Trophy.

GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!! BEAT AIR FORCE!!!

BUCKEYES1 12-05-2006 11:43 AM

That was funny old school.....

Jimbo...
I think pro will win out.......but why not have a bowl invitation for coaches who get eliminated...I'm not sure what the format was for your pro coaches, but lets say after coaches are eliminated you start matching up coaches who may not get a chance to play each other but you set them up to play a college bowl game...

Name various bowls that could be sponored with a field cover and if you guys are doing this for a charity give then the money instead of like the crazy colleges that get millions to build bigger stadiums instead of funding more college students....
Thats what the goal of the College Bowl series was trying to get to...each bowl would have been sponsored by a company with their logo in the middle of the field, a charity given the money and then the board cover would have been placed in a frame and given to that company.
Just my 2 cents.

Still Waiting

...for a few more votes.

O-schemer 12-18-2006 09:44 PM

Frank stole my thunder. I hate when that happens, but anyway I love to see the teams that guys come up with. It adds a lot to the event, and nobody has to worry about "calling" a team. It doesn't have to be the coach's NHFL team, they could create a different team. Let's add this suggestion to the poll.

Raven maniac 12-18-2006 09:53 PM

College or Pro

It doesn't matter either way pro or college. Just play enjoy and give to charity. College team would be Delaware state.

BAXTER 12-19-2006 12:51 PM

Jimbo,

Sorry man, I thought there was another option to select from.

As a result, I will have to abstain from voting. I am actually down for whateva! If the voting ends-up being infavor of college teams, I would like to use Hawaii.

:) :) :D :) :)
