It is 10 miles from the Stearn Center. It is downtown and it sounds like there is a nice plaza within walking distance for food and entertainment. When I asked the reservationist to describe the area, she said that Massillion is a small FOOTBALL town (her quote). Sounds like a perfect description to me! It has standard Hampton imenities, breakfast and so forth but does not have a pool.

Anyone who doesn't want this as their hotel, should book elsewhere NOW! I am not kidding and no whining later!

We have secured 20 rooms from Aug. 5 to checking out on Aug 9. The rate is currently $114.00. (I found other places about the same distance, but the rates were between $199 to $250)
Be sure to mention that you are with the MFCA and give my name, Lynn Schmidt if they can't find that.

5 King bed rooms
15 double bed rooms
1 small conference room that can hold 3-4 games setups and we will have it for the entire weekend for late night gathering and scrimmaging.

We also have space at the Stearn Center for those that want to save their cash and don't mind the camp-in experience. That's where I will be staying! No need to book this space yet.

We just got the BILLS vs TITANS this past august. two AFC teams.

That town is going to be crazy, and the MFCA is fortunate enough to be there !!!! we tailgate at a great house directly across the street from the stadium. What a set up, the house is on the corner, just walk out and cross the street, YOUR IN THE STADIUM. What else could you possibly need for an all around football weekend. Don't be like cable and miss it. Don't say , "oh i'll just wait until we get closer to the date. The only rooms you may find then is in cleveland.

In getting this put together early. Here is some brief info on Massillon:

A little about Massillon-

If you know or have ever heard of Massillon, it's probably because of football. High school football is king here. Massillon has a population of just a touch over 30,000 yet our stadium holds almost 20,000. So strong is the tradition and history, that baby boys at Massillon's hospital are given a miniature football at birth. A downtown mural by artist Eric Grohe depicts the city's football history.

The Hampton is located in the downtown area of Massillon (we're talking about a 5 red light area downtown). There are eateries, stores, shops, bars, etc. all located w/in walking distance of the hotel.

Like Lynn stated the Stearn Center is about a 10 -15 minute drive away (10 miles), and the Airport is about a 20 minute drive away (12 miles).

You do understand, even if you are flying and wanted to camp in at the stearn center. YOU CAN BUY A SMALL TENT AT THE WALMART IN CANTON.
It will save you alot of money. to camp in. Wolf and guys had a nice set up.
Leslie, the great lady of detroitchild said that looks like alot of fun. Speaking about camping out.

Do know, if a group of coaches lets say 3 to 4 wanted to come. you could all rent a car to drive down together. Then buy 1 bigger tent together to camp in with. A GROUP OF 3 TO 4 DOING THIS WILL SAVE SOME NICE MONEY.

There has never been a more sure fire pick than Jerry Rice.....Emmitt for that matter has well.

I went to the all-time list for rushing and receiving, these guys are so far ahead of the pack. It's crazy.

I know you will be doing the 2 step so practice!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is in!!!


I just cross my fingers that the 49ers are playing.

I will be traveling with my cousin and a buddy that I grew up with. We all use to play EF growing up. I hope they have a great time. 2 Cowboys fans, but I will have to stomach them.

If you truly are coming and dont want to camp out. Another option is the motel 6 that we stayed at last year. It may be worth calling them and giving it a shot. I dont remeber the address and tel number off hand.

I don't believe there is a shuttle. Please let us know when you are coming in and we will try to coordinate a pickup. Taxi's are expensive.

NO...DO NOT STAY AT THE MOTEL 6 UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! LESLIE AND I STAYED THERE LAST YEAR AND I WON'T BE STAYING THERE IF I CAN HELP IT.

I have a couch in Salem! LOL it's not much and it's about an hour from over there i think. Anyhow it's open if anyone wants it.
