Electric Football/Buzzball in Our Public Schools in NJ

I would first like to thank all of the electric football Coaches out there that helped make our program a success. Coach Ed, my friend and mentor, Coach Raiderman for the weekly agendas and invite into the NHFL, Coach Joe "the Coach of the year hands down", Coach Jack of "Buzzball Central", The National One and the Philly Crew, Coach Norbert, Coach Jim.Davis, my great friend and the master of the "looper neautralizer 101 theory" Coach K-Lo, Coach Geno, Coach Bill, the Kansas Crew, Coach stacey, Coach George Diamond, and every Coach that has thought of us, sent teams and or just shared your wisdom with me for I always passed it down to the jr coaches.
I thank you.

NJ is in fiscal crisis and as a result my position as Family Liaison has been cut for 07-08. I am very optomistic about the future and I really want the EF buzz to stay alive in the public schools in New Brunswick, no matter where I end up. Watching these studenst develop coaching skills each week brought a great joy to my heart and I am sure other Coaches as well that supported our dream.

We made history......

June 1st, 2007 we will have our 2nd Buzzball/Martial Arts Banquet. If any Coaches would like to send any Buzzball related items as gifts for my students that will be greatly appreciated. I have attempted to get most of them boards, but I am only one Coach of many. Many great Coaches have sent teams, basses and the boys have loved them. Many original jr coaches have moved on to the middle school or transfered out. I hope to send each child away with 2 teams and possibly a board, so that they can continue to compete with eachother throughout the summer, and hopefuly their life time. "Keeps them off the streets"I have sprung for a few Football trophies and the deal is that I am planning 2 banquets in 1. It worked last year.

If you can not or do not wish to :) send anything please simply call as a well wisher during the banquet which starts at 6:00PM and ends at 8:30PM June 1, 2007, we will have dinner and a karate demonstration as well as an awards ceremony. If you are in the NJ area and wish to stop by please do. The address is

National and being National is a busy job.... Did you forget you called me early during the the week and let me know about the affaire that was cool. Ed called but we had not started and I lost the call on the 2nd try. We are in my office 12:20-1 daily, if you get a minute give thema call they know you from our talks, 2 minutes will really enable them to know of the life as The "National One". Couldnt get down sat but I still held on to some WT for you.

Thanks for the tthought.

That group of kids

Karim,

I'm sorry to hear about this news. I am just reading it now as well. I don't know how I missed it but I did have a busy month of May. That is a GREAT group of kids and they will never forget you. What you did (do) for them is awesome. I'm glad I was able to get there one time to witness it. Take care bud and good luck finding your new adventure. Losing a job is tough but I know each time I lost mine there was always something better. Keep us posted.

Thanks Coaches

Coach RM,
I must state you are one of the founding Fathers of the return to EFL drive in NB, NJ. I thank you my Brother. I thank God(see I said it in the school(LOL) inside joke) for allowing our paths to cross and may we continue to stay connected. The invite to the NHFL was not only for me but for all of the students that wonder what their truest potential can be when challenged.: ;): Coach thanks and the weekly agendas helped make some very competetive jr.coaches. Coach RM we just crowned our 06-07 Champ "DAnthony" the kid that kept asking you can he run plays that were penalty ridden when you came down) he beat Kelvin (Coach Staceys guy The "Chiefs") thanks. 21-14. An epic battle.

Coach George Diamond, I got your message, thanks. My desk is local only but you can call 12:20-1 732-745-5300 ext 6808.

All is not lost I have summer work and I will DJ and teach private Martial Arts classess for the summer.

Coach RM you are a founding Father of EFL in NB, NJ at Lord Stirling School.

Thanks from us all.;)

Rock Solid 06-06-2007 12:13 PM

Raiderman is sort of the George Washington of EF in NJ.
I like that vision. RM crossing the Delaware in a boat with his Sting rowing across to Jersey. :-)

Good stuff AKC,

Ed

GrandMasterKC 06-06-2007 12:48 PM

Founding Fathers-II

Coah Ed you are the key to this whole EFL reignition occuring. Thanks you are a true friend first and league mate second. "Keep it simple" all the time. I see the ship Coach RM, Coach ED, Coach Joe, Coaches all over the edges of the boat coming together for one major cause....to get to the other side and take on the next challenge.....competition adrenaline last a game....a brotherhood last a life time. It will continue..........

RAIDERMAN 06-06-2007 01:45 PM

The boat

Oh sure, put me in a boat with a couple of old guys. Who do think will do all the rowing??!! Coach Ed will be looking for his new passion - COWS! Joey G will be yelling at the other boats in the river, "YOU DON'T RESPECT ME DO YOU??!!" Both of them will be telling ME I have 3 hours to cross the river or they're pulling the boat out from under me. Both of them will want to know the stats of how fast I'm rowing per minute. Ed will be reading me the rules the entire way across the river of how to row across a river. No thanks, I'll just stay on the shore where I can run away from them! LOL!!

LOL, Coach you heard Coach Ed's cow theory 101 in KC huh? If Ed is reading the rules then you gotta have National :D next to him to argue all the way to the waters bank( KC flight and onside rules) lol a forever moment in memory of comical aguments.: I have witnessed as an EFL Coach.

Looking for many fun seasons with my NHFL/EFL brothers

Rock Solid 06-06-2007 03:27 PM

You guys are hurting me. I had oral surgery on monday and my mouth is full of stitches and I should not be laughing as much.
RM your comments are priceless.
Don't forget those cows, but what about all those chickens?

One problem

I see one major flaw with this whole boat scenario - our boat would never leave the shore because it wouldn't make weight :)

Joe

In fact after we scale down the boat for travel:rolleyes: it will never float the same way again:eek: ! This is the spirit of the NHFL/EFL of all we lift eachother when needed. Lol, Coach Ed eeezzzzzzz does it. But the flight back from KC was hilarious all the way to Philly and I still dont know if Ed or National conceded on the onside kick issue. laughter heals the soul.:D

Based on the exacting standards set by the NHFL Rule Gods, I was just doin' my Yob man! Who new that 2.0 is really not 2.00 but more like 2.050. It was a bloody base mess after Karim and Bill went through my butcher block weigh in!

Thanks to Ed's cow conversation which was inspired originally by Prettyboy thinking Angus cows were "big black sheep or sumpin' " I was inspired to create RARE. The newest team in the TAEFL and who are their running backs? Cow and Heifer! Who would of thought a conversation on Heifers would be one of my fondest memories of NHFL action that weekend!

As for the boat ride, it wouldn't float anyway with the way Ed sweat it up that weekend. We would of had to use bail buckets the whole way across.

GrandMasterKC 06-07-2007 11:32 AM

I had a ball in KC and it was a pleasure to meet you and to have a fun scrimmage with you. Hey thought your weigh in was alright with me........looking forward to buzzing it up again. But fair is fair...motivate Coach Ed by way of having the young lady that went head over heals for him  in KC and if he refuses place her at the back of the boat and promise her that you will allow her to get closer to Ed each time she succesfuly rows the boat(motivation  101) and just as the boat docks, Coach Ed will probably bolt but hey, we all make it to dry land.......:p :p :p ;) .

I hope that my last day of EF with the jr coaches go's out with a Buzz"

That part of my EFL life has changed but the love and wisdom I get from the Veterans of this game is incredible. I have met the KC crew, the Philly crew, some of the MI crew, and I finally met the Beltsville crew. What a warm group of brothers in Buzz and they have their games like the Barbershop...sharing stories, jokes, and wisdom.:D
Coach K-Lo,it was well worth the ride and I had a great time. I hope to visit again. It was you and Coach Pratt that told me how to best stop the pass and utilize my safeties effectively.:)

I always revert back to Coach Ed.Roche, a great friend and the inspiration for my desire to keep playing. Through him I met Coaches RaiderMan, Joe G, Norbert, Jeasymoney, K-Lo, Rip, National One,.......and the family continues to grow.
I will call the Coaches for wisdom and inspiration and they will share w/o reservation. I thank all of you Coaches that help elevate this game and make competition a Coaching influenced contest enabled by the proper bases needed to give us new people a chance to get out there and simply "believe" we have a chance at winning. This confidence empowered me to start Coaching with strategy in mind because my team had the necesary talent to keep me in games. I lost 17-0 back to back my first 2 games last year receive some draft picks from Coach Norbert, Jim Davis, K-Lo, Pratt...and then my games were 6-0 only giving up 2 FG, overtime 10-7, ..I ended my season 3-5 and made the NHF playoffs....My point I was inspired by the talent of my draft pics to coach them and I asked the veteran Coaches....how do you coach? I called them after every game reviewing the performance of the draft pics sent and how do I utilize their talents better. Even when I lost I felt like I had a chance of winning! I will continue to ask that same questioned and I have been inspired to work on learning the art of tweaking some bases, but I know and respect what the best at tweaking bring to our hobby......experience, strength, and hope. Thanks and now I am ready to....Electric Football!!! I am willing to travel within the tri state area for some scrimmages. Give me a call 908-239-1172 Coach Karim.

Buzzball/Public Schools Update

Coaches,
some of you may have read this and know that do the budget in NBPS I lost my job in June along with it some of the efforts to bring Electric football back to New Brunswick.

I was hired in South Brunswick Public Schools to on a partime basis to work in an afterschool Homework/Recreation program.........Buzzball in Central Jersey can grow again. My students in New Brunswick were given teams and boards... many donated and some I purchased myself from ebay as going away gifts.

GrandMasterKC 09-25-2007 10:04 AM

How do we carry this on when we just want to keep it to our selves

This is just my observations. I have reached out to Coaches to get my EF school league started (2nd school league new school district). The truest fellow Coaches have came through via through teams, EF agendas, bases, visits, all with the intent of spreading the EF philosophy to our youth. :D Many have again recommited to sending what they could and again thanks:) (Coaches if you have donated in the past please do not concern yourself for there is enough Coaches out there to for our youth. I am sure I am not the first Coach to attempt this.:) I am looking for that fellowship that I read about in the post, I have not met all the Big name Coaches out there yet, But I have met many ER, RM, JG, KL, NR, JD, GD, GH, KB, N1, KC:) , CS, WW, and others. They all had the big hearts to match them. If nothing else send a couple of pencil written plays;)
Thank you for the replies, but my heart gets heavy when there is a scattered response when I attempt to do things to help our youth, to give them options other than the streets. This EF thing helped me and I hope to pass it on.

Think of this ask a kid who a certain NFL star is and they will run the list, then ask a kid who a certain EFL Coach is (not your sons/daughters) lol:D and then you will see that we must nurture and pass this on. We are the children of the EF beginning and as men we must make sure it never ends.

This why I came back and yes I have only played 1 major tournament, and attended 2 but I felt like I was back home with my crew(friends/family) getting ready for some fun competition:) This EF hobby has revigorated my sense of purpose. When us Coaches telephone eachother for the meeting point before we go to our league games, there is nothing like the feeling of being a part of something so special!!1:cool:

I read a brothers post a while back and he made an all out call for the younger generation to comeback for he felt something was missing in his EF experiences(dont want to miss quote you my brother):)

This is what I do: I teach a karate program 3 days a week, I race slot cars and buzz with my 2 youngest children every night I get the chance. I recently went on ebay and purchased some teams and boards inspite of the fact that I am only working 3 hours a day and collecting partial unemployment (due to a budgetary reasons at my old job): I DJ, and collect HO slot cars. I have never forgot why I am alive..God spared me from the streets and I made a concious decision to give something back" and i know by way of evidence that many Coaches feel the same way.

I know many of us have been burned by scammers and hustlers and perhaps this is why the response was minimal and hey if that is it, then it is better than any wrongful assumptions. If you have read this far thanks and I left this on my post because it will be viewed at a later date and by then many of us will just take a retrospective view and say:eek: we are all aging and if we do not pass this back to the rightful inheriters of EF;the PS2, Xbox, and Wii generation will steal them away as it did my oldest son until he just enrolled in Norfolk University in VA and called me and said "...guesss what dad...they have a EF league on campus:eek:   " I love this thing of ours and maybe he can find the love for it too and that day will come when we play a full game and converse as Coaches:rolleyes: If you wish to start a HO racing club at a school or in your community, I have plenty of Xtra track to donate.

any donations can be sent to:

Coach Karim-c/o Cambridge School Ef Club
1308 Centennial Ave #320
Piscatway, NJ 08854

:) :) as soon as God makes me a full timer I will give you an address directly at the school;) If it is His will, it shall happen;) ;)

you have some needs for teams, boards, bases - you know what to do!!

I am thinking about a prize for your group - a hand painted team of Titans that include a 600 field for the same Titans team with field cover...... let me know if this is something you could use.....

Raiderman is one of the big reasons that I got back into the game a few years ago. I also live in New Jersey. If I can do anything to help in the future let me know. I live in Warren County. I also know Joe G who is a great coach and a good guy.

Good luck finding a job that you like. I am sure that you will.

Thanks

Coach RaiderMan, Ed. Roche, and Joe.G were the first EF Coaches come to New Brunswick and scrimmage some our kids. After that I was invited into the NHFL. Since then I have met many great friends and Coaches of our craft from, MD, VA, NY, MI,etc. The support is great once your goal is clearly defined. Thanks and I will keep you in mind Coach.thmbsp$ thmbsp$
