are the edfw footballs

coaches,

Are the edfw footballs allowed in any league play ?

If they are not allowed can someone please explain thr reason.

They were made for electric football at some point by some company.

SPEAKING OF FF.NET, PROLINE AND MIGGLE BIGMEN FIGURES ONLY. Do you think these edfw footballs are a decent size for these bigger figures. Miggle made the smaller football from the start for there regular sized figures. I think the smaller football works well with haiti repro's and also.

The maker of the edfw footballs. what figures did they have in mind for it's use during the course of a game ? It's not like your going to hit every pass with these edfw's. Is it that far off in size from the ice cream footballs.

During the course of a game, if a coach pulls out a edfw to pass, will the ref's and league stop that person. Im thinking there were only 4 footballs made in the history of elctric football

1) miggle foam football

2) miggle white felt football

3)miggle ice cream football

4) edfw footballs.

so are these edf's another thing that is outlawed ????

****quick note, just as reg and the shootout style of play allow's you to use ulimited browns bases. There are some who won't let you use the base because the plastic is too thick """ what ???? """ Somebody has to explain that one to the ef world. Why not try to beat the figure on the brown base instead of outlawing it.

Like i said earlier, we have BIGGER FIGURES NOW so is the edfw a go ???

thanx

mantaraydre

ps/some did not want to use the ice cream football because it knocked players over. I say, at least you know you hit the receiver. PICK HIM UP AND TURN AND BURN >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

WHATS THE CASE FOR THE E.D.F.W. ??????????

Coach K-LO 11-20-2009 09:46 AM

most leagues ban them because of their size compared to traditional footballs

we allow them in the BEFL!

sweetka 11-20-2009 09:56 AM

They are big!

I could sure use them most of the time the way I pass! :rtfl: :rtfl:

Realistically, it's like throwing and catching a compact vehicle! :rtfl: :rtfl:

that's funny....

or like catching a medicine ball....

WEIRDWOLF 11-20-2009 10:21 AM

I personally feel they are too large. I compare it to, if the NFL would let receivers carry giant butterfly nets around to catch the balls. It is then a different game.

Just because something is made for EF/MF doesn't mean it is right or good for the game.

Dre

If you put a lighter to them they shrink in size making them allowable for play. That is what I have done to them......

Now thats the first time i ever heard that tip. I got a whole bunch of these.

GrandMasterKC 11-20-2009 12:42 PM

For me they helped bring my passing game to a point of comfortabilty..

The risk is knocking over men and interceptions...the gain is the deep ball and losing the fear of trying to pass. You still have to hit the wr or target.!!! My good friend Mo told me "Just take a deep breathe and believe" I did and hit a couple with the traditional size balls. I am on a hunt because I am teaching the kids to pass and what better ball to use than..a pill..it helped me. I also need a few for myself for yes they still help methmbsp$ Every Coach is not a natural passer...just as every Coach is not a natural run strategist...just as some can score but cant stop the opposition...just as some can stop but never put 3 led alone 7 on the board....my point?:D I agree when you reach a certain level of play your equipment will change...and so will your strategies. I use the pill for deep passes and the lil ones for "threading the needle"ftbll$
Ban, sman....just keep the playing field leveled and keep them banned all year that way training camps are conducted with the banned" items in mind. thmbsp$ Look ftbll$ throwing the ball is a work of art and the QB is much more vital than the actual ball...but knowing the balance of your ball is much more vital than it being "too Big" or "too small" my 2 cents...:rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: I will pass any ball ballftbll$ !!!!!!! Where in the pass I thought I could simply run up the gut foreverrfr$ nope a balanced attack is a must:rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl:MAKE :fghttt: ALL :fghttt: BALLS LEGAL:fghttt: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: just kidding :dohdh: if it is in the rules than it is respectedthmbsp$ :nhnh: :nhnh:

mantaraydre 11-20-2009 01:34 PM

But how far

mo/coaches,

If your going to shrink the football, how far down in size must it be shrunk ?

CAN IT BE SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN THE ICE CREAM FOOTBALL ?

THEN WHAT IS THE INTERPITATION OF SLIGHTLY ?

L liken these efdw's to the boat base. Which is larger than the normal size base. But they are allowed in some arena's. If you frankenstein a base, that base will be alot bigger and stronger than a normal base. Those are allowed.
That's an SUV/ limo on the field with cabs. But it all balances out.

I can see a rule implemented stating a coach can use a EDFW FOOTBALL when the receiver is a certain distance away from the line of scrim. LETS SAY 25 TO 30 YARDS on a 308 or watts board.
Im not really sure if a coach set up a receiver 25 yards away and threw 20 passes to him. He will hit all 20. just because the football is a little bigger you still miss left or right if your an average ttqb/tdq passer. So it all equals out.

It's like a golpher, they use a certain club for a closer shot, and a different club for a longer shot.

Also, this football will increase the interception rate. If there are 2 defenders in the area, it's going to hit somebody !

Honestly Dre

I could care less as long as its within reason and a coach isn't passing with a miniature nerf football.....it should have semblance to what is issued by miggle and others....I shrink them down to an acceptable size...I like them because they are stable and not all frayed....

mantaraydre 11-20-2009 01:51 PM

THAT'S TRUE

They are alot sturdier than the miggle footballs. But you know, if a coach plays an entie game with the edfw's and wins. And the other coach used the regular miggle footballs. you know that coach who lost will say, " I lost but he was using a bigger football to pass ". I guess you woul have to view the percentage rate of the edfw's during the course of a game. If a coach missies his first five passes with one, then what difference is it really going to make. he will probably miss with anything

I like the edfw

I like the edfw balls. We can use them in the dixie league. The biggest thing I like about the ball is that you can tell when you complete a pass. I know for a fact I have hit the receiver with a pass with the smaller ball and the person that I'm playing would say NO NO Incomplete. Well with this ball there is no dout when you hit the WR. I also think that it promotes offense and is more in line with NFL passing percentiges. Don't get me wrong I use and like the miggle felt ball, and I'm just as effective with it as I'm with the edfw. I just fill that It is more player friendley with the game, and helps promote the hobby easer to new players.

styx 11-20-2009 02:54 PM

oh yeah

they dont fray after a couple games like the miggle balls, but i never thought of shrinking them, great post buddy.thmbsp$ thmbsp$

mantaraydre 11-20-2009 02:56 PM

butch i agree

butch cart,

I agree it is more player friendly and promotes a little more offense. Your right, many times i would see a coach throw a pass and BOTH COACHES are unsure if the pass was complete or incomplete. They ref also sometimes. This is the case sometimes with kicking . I was just wondering if anyone allowed them for use in a league around the country. Glad to hear you enjoy throwing with them.

so do i.....i will have to try this

styx 11-20-2009 05:08 PM

in season one

in the glefl we could use any ball we wanted, but that changed because some people felt it was to easy to complete a pass, but i feel it dosnt really matter what football you throw ,if u are a good passer unlike myself ,i cant hit a wr with a basketball. :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl:

bigger is good!

The bigger ball takes away most controversial hits or misses. Most coaches I have played really fire bullet passes. You can hardly tell if a pass is completed with the smaller ball. Now, I pass with the efw leather ball (bigger size). There is no doubt about completions with this ball. You got to throw with touch so you will not knock your receiver over. I have no problems playing with the leather ball and there is no controversy either!

Butch Carter 11-20-2009 09:32 PM

edfw

Does anyone have any edfw ball for sale? I only have one, and I would like to buy 6. Joel P1 give me the one I have and it would be nice to have a back up.

steelerfan 11-20-2009 10:35 PM

edwf ball, can someone post a picture? maybe next to a miggle ball

jeff 08-12-2010 12:28 PM

they are allowed in MID-OHIO . Rick , I will show you one next time we get together.

jwm8592 08-12-2010 11:06 PM

Jeff

If we're going against the grain sort of in allowing these (where most leagues don't), if you throw a rocket to the WR and knock him over is the offensive coach still able to pick him up and turn and burn him if unengaged? Same question for a behind the line pass as well.
thx,

jeff 08-12-2010 11:23 PM

yes.
We have allowed these for years . I have used them , just for kicks though
