MFCA podcast on itunes????
Iron Eagle was trying to explain it to me during the convention. Hey Sean, you have the floor my brother...enlighten me and the forum on your idea.
It sounded very interesting. Nat'l |
I would Definitely subscribe to that podcast!
love to hear ideas too! |
I am in
I would be in on a podcast.

I envision it as a a national talk show where we discuss the latest developments in EF with members around the nation. With Skype (a free program) we can do everything over the internet for interviews. Think of it as an electronic audio version of the Tweak. It would be far more current (we could have a show ready in a week or less) and it would cost far less to produce than the paper version. After some initial set up, (head set and mike) it really wouldn't cost anything but someone's time.
Podcasts and blogs are the future. We are doing blogs which are good, but we really neeed to do more to drive people to our website. Podcasts would help that if we can get them in the I-tunes store and in the Zune Marketplace. Imagine if we were podcasting from Miggle. We could have been transmitting news almost instantly to our membership at home. Also I can see us eventually doing a video Podcast for major events like Miggle or Buzzfest. We can actually video podcast from the day of the event and post the feed on our website that same night, so our members who aren't there can see and hear the fun. :D |

I actually setup an account for the MFCA when I put up the new front end. Anyone that wants to broadcast can get the pass codes from me. We can set schedules etc.. and it will broadcast right from the MFCA site. Here is the direct link.

Need just alittle help with this, it sounds great.
For the technological dumb, where i am the president of that club, can you guys further explain what this is and how this works?
I have ofcourse heard this many times, but now that it may directly effect me, i ask, what exactly is a pod cast? How does a pod cast work? How can we, at home, use this? |
Great idea! thmbsp$

A podcast is basically an audio file (or a video file in case of videocast) you can download and read with your mp3 player (like an Ipod, for example...it's why we speak about podcast). These files are often available by RSS flux (what is an RSS flux ? it's quite the same as a newsletter with richmedia content (audio, video, text)) you can suscribe, then you receive the news in a RSS player or modern email client (what is an email client ? well... :rtfl: )). podcast file content : often similar to a radio show (or tv show) content. Then, you can listen it on your computer, or your mp3 player. Since modern mp3 players are also video players, the podcasting is evolving to video these days. In one word, podcast is a recorded media content you can download. It's diferent than live streaming where you can see or heard in direct live some media content (ustream, web radios, etc...). |
Dave Hydell....
was supposed to be doing something like this. I talked with him a few years ago. He told me that was where he was heading, ........... I think he is also set up to do this. Maybe life got in the way, like it has a habit of doing, but, I do remember that he told me he was working on podcasts. Maybe he can assist as well.

Well let's get somebody on the podcast
committee!!!!
I'm with you Hoop, I don't totally understand it, but if it's EF/MF/BB friendly, I'm down with it!!!! thmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$ RiP is correct, NOdave was interested in starting this a few years ago, but I don't know what happened. Nat'l |
I did a few!
And got no responses. I had them on the Miggle site, here's the one I did interviewing Ron Bell about the Miggle 2010 convention.

Dave,
That's a shame. I believe we could get one going howver if we placed it prominently on this website which is more active in my opinion. What do you think? Also, I think we need to do more than just interviews on EF. We can talk about football in general also. For instance off season moves, the draft, playoffs etc. Additionally, I think Podcasts work better when there is a co -host and they are done on a somewhat regular schedule. Once a month or something. One thing we could do on the EF front would be to interview the various commissioners of the EF leagues and giive a pre-season preview. Maybe do a Miggle re-cap. Just some ideas. I would be happy to help in anyway I could. |
Thanks!
First, thanks to Coach Rip and Mr. National for remembering me on this.
Iron Eagle, sure, we can get together and expand this. All your ideas sound good to me. Let me know what you have in mind. I can even be the "sound engineer" if you want to send me audio files. By the way, the above-mentioned podcast is on iTunes as a free download (I think). Look up "David Haydel" |
Thumbs up!
Dave, Sean,
I think this is a great idea. I think now would be a great time to implement these suggestions. Podcast interviews on EF and real football would be a blast. Can something be done in time for the Super Bowl? I know we can have something in place for the NFL draft. The CBSMF starts in a few months and the Convention in Canton would be great. Let's do this. thmbsp$ |
Whatever the MFCA can do to support this moving forward, I am down for. I also am not an expert at this, but I would love to see an archive of weekly podcasts, video casts etc... Just let me know what the MFCA can do.
