Hi,

On that topic, I will present you the W.I.P of my brother's Steelers team.

I started the custom process with the linemen. Here's the rough custom poses. Except the right guard, all poses are customized.


I wanted a "snap instant" pose, to contrast with my Niners "action" pose. I'll do all the rough customizing, then as usual, add muscles, physical improvements and corrections needed, and x-acto sculpted faces.

Yes, it will be fun to paint something not red :D

I started with the O-line, since they will need a lot of work (belly sculpting, etc...) !

Tommorow I'll sculpt them and finish my couple of niners. I wanted to paint the 2 1976 Bucs, but they still dipped in alcohol $br#

They certainly will be powerfull. I check the real athletes photos, they are mostly quite big :D

SO the low stance and big bellies should help on scrimmage, like the real thing I guess ltsplbll

Hi,

Today I started to work on the skills players. I made the QB, left WR, right WR/slot receiver, running back, and fullback. I have to make the TE tonight.

Yesterday I made other poses : a "basic" tight end (stock pose with detailed face, the head has been pivoted), a "basic" WR (custom, but with the best balance I can : the figure will be used for wide play) and a defense left cornerback (the pose is more defensive, so I'll keep it for D squad).


Now my O squad is complete. I have to "clean" the arms and finish the helmets, then I'll sculpt and paint. I'll do the D squad after that.

I finished the helmets, and took a complete squad pic...As you can see, the poses are finally quite "conservative". On the pic the slot receiver fig is not present, I keep it for later (same thing than in my Niners team, I'll add option guys after that)

...even if the team will be for my brother, to be honest I don't think he will have so much interest :rtfl: Last time he came, I prowdly showed him my complete niners team and last Bucs I made, he almost didn't watch it mtmstnks :fghttt: :rtfl:

Perhaps I'll keep that Steelers team...and only lend it to him :D

well, we 'll see. :o I will certainly initiate other friends in the mean time (perhaps friday night), and as soon as possible I'll try to go in wargame conventions to make demos. I'm also very confident in my future solo league...but I need more and more teams ! :rtfl: I believe I'll go for prepaint teams for solitaire league.


IN the mean time I'll have a lot of fun painting them. But first I have to sculpt arms and muscles. Honestly, painting is the funniest part of the job. thmbsp$

Hi,

Last update for tonight, I prepared the arms and fixed some defects on the figs. Tommorow I'll sculpt all the figures muscles and bellies, so I'll start painting this week end, and perhaps complete that O squad quite fast :D

Today the linemen seems to have a special treatment : kilos of french fries and liters of beer, LOT of beer...now their bellies are ready for scrimmage :rtfl:

I added the arms muscles. I had a lot of fun on that "sumo" line :D they all have their place in extreme pro wrestling, I believe :rtfl:


TOnight I'll finish to fix some defects (shoulders, feet, joints between glued pieces, etc...stuff like that) on the linemen; then I'll make the skills players muscles too thmbsp$


I plan to start painting that O squad this week end.

I added the muscles on the QB, FB and RB. I fixed a lot of defects on the QB, I still need to add a piece of towel.


THe fb and RB are in progress, and I started the tight end too.

I certainly will finish the sculpting tommorow !

I'm currently making the last work on my offensive squad. I just finished the FB, QB and HB. Here's the pics of it ;)


Now I'm working on the linemen, then I'll work on the 3receivers (I start that team with 11+1WR athletes...to be more specific, 11+2...but it's a surprise :D ).

BTW, tonight I finished the TE, I added the dread locks on the FB, and made the hair too on the LG.

Hi,

Here 's the pics of my last work yesterday night. I added hair on FB and LG, and I completed my tight end too.

FOr the tight end, I made a receiver pose. But I added a lot of muscles (arms and legs) on him, making his hips and chest bigger too, to make a difference with the future "real" receivers. My goal is to build a strong but reliable TE, for side rushing covering and for short passing.

Today, I'll finish the squad (2 WR +1 slot receiver, and details on already done linemen).

Hi,

Last unpainted pic before the painting ! (the squad + option slot receiver in the back)

Tomorrow, I'll sand the molding and sculpting defects, and then I'll undercoat the figs. I'll probably undercoat in white, because the steelers yellow will be easier to do.

Speaking of weight, the figures weight is about 2.40grams for the lighters (WRs) and 2.55 gram for the bigger (center). FB and TE : 2.50gram.

I like it too, but I don't know how it will work on the field...I made a quite similar receiver for my Niners, it's lloking great, but on the field...his high gravity center make him difficult to tweak, keeping the fig under a 4.0grams weight. It's a funny phenomenon : the "long" figures like that are heavier than a linemen, so finally you don't have too much room for tweak after that.

It's why I 'll make that WR a slot receiver looper, for low range passing. But friday I was so successfull with my RBs in small yardage rushing (about 8/10 success attemps on downs with my rbs), I don't know if i'll take the risk to pass in inner field before a long time :D

Hi,

Today I painted a little. I finished the socks, the pants stripes, and started the shoulder stripes.

Now, I have to :

detail the skin parts
detail the shoes
pin stripe with black details
make the white inner stripes on shoulders
make the helmets details and logos
pose the sticker numbers


A lot of things to do, but the figures are in progress now ! :D
