Colorado just jumped to the PAC 10. They will soon be followed by many others from the Big 12. This is the end of the Big 12.

When do they start in conference play ?
|
Hopefully,
so-called "super-conferences forming will finally lead to playoffs.

Soon to be the "Plus Size 10" conference?

BIG 12 RIP
What Texas wants, Texas gets. Ever since the BIG 8 started talking about expansion, us in the Mizzou Tiger Club in Kansas City, MO, wondered about how long it would take for Texas to own the new conference. I told them about a time I was at a Texas game (I was stationed at Ft Food, TX), and after the game I accidentally walked in to a bar that had a lot of big aumni. This was before any talk about Big 8 expansion. These big shots were talking about forming a super conference with the Big 8. The talk was mostly about how Texas was going to dominate this super conference. The league headquarters would be moved to Dallas, TX ( it was ). Who would be included from the Southwest conference, and who they would leave out. (Texas made all of the decisions about the relaignment). Who would be the official sponsor for the new conference. (Dr Pepper of Texas) Now the teams that did not want the expansion ( Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado) are starting to leave because they are tired of TEXAS running the league. The Pac 10 had better be wary of letting Texas into their league.

??????????
What happened to the Big-12? Why is the conference falling apart?
|
Quote:
Mostly because of Texas' getting preferrential treatment on virtually everything. Examples: recently the Big 12 title game being permanently moved to Jerry world & the 1 second fiasco from last years title game, the original alignment & interconference scheduling (Texas made sure they played OU every year but Nebraska vs. OU be ********ed), maybe the biggest reason - revenue sharing (league only splits about half of conference revenue among teams - the rest the schools pocket for themselves based on TV appearances). Big 10 distributes monies equally among all schools. It's mostly that whatever Texas wants, Texas gets and the North schools are tired of it. Former Nebraska coach and current AD Tom Osbourne, who was against the Big 12 initially, has seen enuff. So did Colorado, and that's why Mizzou wants out too. Texas' greed ruined the SWC and now they're ruining the Big 12. Seems there's a pattern there, so buyer beware. |
crap, shows you what i know, i had no clue it was TEXAS' fault. i just like watching the games, hell with politics. maybe the change will be for the greater good then.
