"Guten Tag" from good old Germany
What´s up?
My name is Michael Cook "Mike" and I am living in Berlin/Germany. I am a big Footballfan and know miniature electric football from way back playing it in my childhood. I didn´t expect that there were that much enthusiasts out there being organized like that. A couple of friends and me were thinking about having a hobby on the side to prevent losing the child in us. What else could it be if it hasn´t anything to do with football?! I remember telling them guys about a game I played with my dad and from that point on it was clear.....we have to find it....... hold up....I was send out to do what I can to hook everybody up with equipment, infos, etc. :D Ebay aint really a platform for Germany when it comes to shipping. Only spare users sending worldwide so it is kind of difficult to provide anything of electric football. American Football has a big community since the early 1980 but no one really thought about to merchandise supporting goods. You won´t find anything but equipment to play the sport yourself, here and there shirts and a few caps and that´s it! Okay no wonder the NFL World Leauge had to quit mgngcrz Europe ain´t ready for the greatest sport yet. Finaly I contacted your forum and Lynn Schmidt gave me the opportunity to use this plattform here. I am thankful for any help to establish this great game here in Germany. I hope that I dind´t forgot anything important?! If so, please let me know and feel free to ask any questions about me and whatever seems to be known. Happy Gaming Mike |
Welcome Mike!!!!!

Welcome Mike
Always good to have another coach on board and to see the game expanding to other parts of the world. As has already been stated - this is the place for all your needs regarding EF - and you will see that it has advanced FAR since our younger days for sure!

Thanks for your fast reply.
I am looking foreward to catch up quick with EF as it is today. Thanks also for the links and to answer more questions of the above I will come direct and short. My mom is a german and my dad is from Glade Hill/ VA. Also had my 4 years experience with the service. Where I am from ? Good question..... My family lives in the area of Franklyn County/Virginia, Roanoke, Greensboro/High Point in North Carolina and even Bluefield in West Virginia (my dad went to college over there). When I am comming back to the US it will be either VA or NC. Most of my friends moved to North Click and I know my way arround. I do play football (see avatar) in a 4. Divison team over here running up to Divison 3. Played also in the highest class in the past, became german champion and still can if I am willing to train every day......NOT! My bones hurt enough right now. I leave this up for the young blood. Everybody is trying to talk me into coaching but for right now I can´t live without hurting the fool that is trying to carry the ball my way. drl$$ Took me also 27 years of playing ball until I got ejected the first time in my career for unnecessary roughness. Back to the game. I will build me a field myself and hopefully find someone here that can hook me up with bases, figures, etc. I love these high detailed figures I have seen here. And that the french guy knows how to paint is nothing new to me. I have seen miniatures painted by "french guys" for tabletop games that had 28 layers of color and looked so realistic. That´s in their blood I guess?! ;) Happy Gaming Mike Edit: My favorite teams are Redskins, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech |
Thats whats up
Welcome to the big show, its all good! thmbsp$

You're the big guy on the avatar photo ? I guess I did well not to play american football, if all the other guys are the same size as you :rtfl: thmbsp$ The german football level is very high for europe. I hope we'll see an new big european championship one day. It's a shame since events like Superbowl made big scores on TV (about 250000 people between midnight and 4am on sunday, on a small tnt -like cable channel size- channel). I believe that year Germany lost against Japan on world championship, am I right ? By the way, did you see how the japanese play ? Quite impressive, really fast. The cool thing with japanese, is that when they try to learn something, they go as deep as they can and do their best. Same thing in soccer, baseball, etc... Quote:

I am not that big:nhnh:
I´m 5´11 and weight about 245 lbs. as a MLB. I am one of the shortest on the team and even in the leauge but with 4.5 to 4.6 sec on the 40, knowledge and the hardest forehead in germany it fits quiet perfect. During this years season preparation I went up to 275 lbs. and lost alot of pounds quick to prevent to be stuck into the Defense Line. Okay, when it´s needed I´m also playing End sometimes. I started out in my career playing ball as a Flanker. I was fast, 165 to 185 lbs, good hands and were hitting hard. After breaking to much tackles and carrying the ball well, my dad and coach, made me playing FB gaining up to 205 lbs (age 17). I hated it. All the fame for someone else. I blocked my ****** of and made it possible to run every Defense down. It had to change! In my first senior year I decided to play Free Safety and I did. My coach these days (William McKinley Brooks III/Billy Brooks) couldn´t say no to a guy running a stable 4.4 on the 40, good hands and willing to tackle everything near or holding the ball. Even a Ref if there was no whistle rfr$ or being to close to action. :rtfl: After all those years working out I became bigger and found myself playing OLB (Will) and present MLB and loving it. About the IFAF World Cup I don´t know but the Japanese are the top contender. German Football standard is very high. I would say any 1. Division Team is able to face a US top College Team. This season one of our opponents had two 2. Divison college players (RB´s) from Kentucky on their team and they had to find out the hard way that we know the game. I am 41 now and hope to play for a few more years. Coming back to painting my french neighbor I have seen the best painted miniatures only coming out of France. They are the inofficial World Champions in paintingfrstplc. For example check out competitions of Games Workshop and also Confrontation by Rackham (Made in France). A friend over here for example plays Subbuteo and ist selling teams worldwide. Bodo Reckzeh is his name and his paintjobs are outstanding. He is well known in the scene. I will post a link to his page if anyone is interested?! I played Subbuteo myself and still hold my miniatures from the early 80´s and I will sell´em pretty soon. Happy Gaming Mike |
