USC Trojans All-Time Roster
15 Attachment(s)
Since I couldn't make it to Canton, and we have been in a "heat wave" here in Texas, I stayed in and got alot of painting done.
This team was made for MplsTom, and he supplied the decals. They have the uniforms from the 1970's with an all time roster of the players who made an impact in the NFL. I took some artistic liscence on the facemasks, and used almost all on the throwback sprue. I tried to give the players a facemask that had the right "feel". Almost every figure is has been altered in someway, and several have been completely redone with every joint being changed. I also used alot of greenstuff with much sculpting. Since I just can't make open hands to scale like Megawattz and some others, I figured out that if you very carefully cut and scrape the football out of the hands with the ball, you can make interesting open hands (unfortunately they are all right hands). The cornerbacks were made by cutting up other figures, although they do look similar to the new ones Dewyane Jennings has coming out in the future. Thanks, Michael |
Bravo ppls$ Superbe travail ppls$ (yes, when I'm impressed, I speak in french :D )
for the real hands stuff, I don't know if you saw my article : http://miniaturefootball.org/2010/04...-your-figures/ It's quite simple to do. thmbsp$ |
Whoa & Wow
That is just some unbelievable work. I love the OL with each players head angled at a different direction, like their making sure of who they'll be blocking, so life-like. Thx for sharing.

Thanks
Thank you everyone. Believe me I am not perfect, and I keep finding things to go back and fix. It is hard because the photos show things that I can't even see with just my eyes. I am happy with how they look on the field or shelf though.
Dimitri-as for the hands, I have tried everything. I came closer using your method, but I still get hands that look like Halloween monster gloves. When I go back and trim the tips of the fingers then I get ogre hands/mits. I have sculpted a few that are closed that I am ok with, but I don't know how you guys get the hands in scale. Thanks again guys. |
Simply Phenomenal!
Simply stunning. Fantastic artistry! thmbsp$

USC
Guys, I am amazed at Michael's work. But the best thing about the whole project has been working with Michael himself. What a nice guy with a painstaking attention to detail. Great communication, great questions, and as you see by the photos - pristine work.
If you're at all debating whether or not to take the plunge - I can only say that having his work in your collection is worth every penny. Thanks Michael! MplsTom |
