Amazing that is totally sick.

MrDCowboys 07-09-2007 03:39 AM

NO WAY!

WEIRDWOLF 07-09-2007 08:43 AM

Just to clarify. Earl is not entered and cannot be entered in the contest. (But if 5-13 submits another entry like Earl, we better all step up our game).

All entries must be submitted by email to weirdwolf@weirdwolf.net
Make sure you read the rules...No previously displayed figures are allowed.
DO NOT POST your entries!

It might be just me.

But I think the people entering the contest should have to enter with a team of 11 players either offense or defense not just one guy. Although that Earl looks like he can take a whole team on.

5-13 Studios 07-09-2007 12:34 PM

c'mon now, the rules have already been outlined...unless, of course, one can fit 11 players onto 1 platform. hmmmmm........:D

Coach K-LO 07-09-2007 01:45 PM

513 - you are the front runner

513 -

Earl is a masterpeice! your painting style is really something. Not to mention your attention to details.

I posted up you figure so all can get a sense of where they are as painters and detailers.

Made me mad at first, but then made me determined to upgrade my work to a new level. I am still trying to get there, this just makes me work harder on the next group.

5-13 Studios 07-09-2007 04:53 PM

wow! i appreciate the positive response.
i believe that everyone involved in the competition will generate some amazing figures and paintjobs. it should be a lot of fun!

WEIRDWOLF 07-09-2007 05:31 PM

One more note. There are two catagories now so again, "read the rules." :)

That Earl is unreal!!!!!

Hey 5-13 studios, I just want you to know that Earl Campbell is the absolute greatest figure I've ever seen in my life!!!!! How you did that I'll never know;but as a Houston Oilers fan on top of it all,I can't say enough. I've copied that and showed everyone of my brothers. They said the same thing. Absolutely unreal!!!!!!!!!!!

if you did not get a chance to see it in person, the pictures is a small comparison to the actual thing!

I did see some other stuff that blew my EFL mind at SWB, but I could not get a picture of them..........

Milliput

I have a feeling milliput could be a critical ingrediant for the customization contest as the level of detail on our players is getting greater and greater.

Milliput- A soft "formable" cold epoxy resin which is often used for detailed modelling, Once its mixed it can stick to plastics (and other materials) and be fromed and dries hard like plastic. Hmmm...shoulder pads, elbow pads, kneck braces, big muscles, footballs.

http://www.milliput.co.uk/home.htm

I didn't see it at my local hobby store but I know you can find the stuff on ebay. Anybody use something other than milliput that they would like to recommend?

Regards,
Joe

5-13 Studios 07-11-2007 02:09 AM

my preference is apoxie, made by aves.

5-13 Studios 07-11-2007 09:34 AM

here is the link: http://www.avesstudio.com/
i think that some hobby shops are starting to carry it now.

Coach K-LO 07-11-2007 09:46 AM

5-13, thanks and have you....

5-13, thanks and have you sent to them some of your work to post in their gallery??

I think it could generate more "lost EFLers" if they were to see Earl on that site.

Thanks again for the info.......

K-lo

5-13 Studios 07-11-2007 10:40 AM
