Solitaire Tournament...
 

this weekend in the Man Cave Stadium - 12 team Iron Man Tournament.

Why: Because I want to get some games in and work the skills. ltsplbll hlmt$
When: Throughout the weekend. ftbll$

Format:
- Teams will be divided into four - 3 team pools.
- Each team will play the other pool teams 1 time using a Miggle style approach - 4 downs from the 40 going in.
- Each team will have to use at least run play during the four downs. Ties determined by most yards gained.
- No field goals allowed.
- Any touch tackles - no passing to engaged receivers - defense adjusts unengaged defenders on pass completions and after 10 yards gained on run plays.

Defenses will all run a 3 man front with remaining defenders set to defend run or pass set-ups. No stacking - LBer's in gaps cannot be closer than back of DT's base.

The top team from each pool will advance into the knock-out stage.

Knock-out stage each teams will have two - four down possessions - same basic rules - field goals allowed on either possession - standard Miggle goalposts.

Final Game - teams will each have two possessions - as many plays as they can muster - minimum of four allowed - so long as the keep getting first downs. TD's will be followed by a mandatory try for point from scrimmage - 2 points for a run PAT and 1 point for a pass PAT.

TO had both Cowboy TD receptions and might of had a third if not for the Panther sack pictured. Panthers had pressure on each play.

You should make some vids also ! Perhaps put your camera on critical downs, or random running plays, for example thmbsp$

how they got to the final.

In the semi-Finals the first game pitted the Cardinals against the Giants.

Cards first possession after two incompletions on third down the moved the ball to the 16 YL and then opted to get points by attempting a FG - but it missed wide right. Yards gained 24.

The Giants connected on three consecutive passes driving the ball to the 2 YL and on fourth and goal just missed a receiver in the left corner. Yards gained 38.

The Giants second possession started with an incomplete and then two short gains. They were not close enough to attempt a FG (must be inside the 30 for a try) and saw their fourth down pass attempt miss. Yards gained 8.

The Cardinals started their last possession with an 11 yard completion followed by and incomplete. On third down they moved the ball to the 14 YL and on fourth down kicked a 31 Yd FG for the win.

In the second game the Red and Black went up against the Dolphins.

The Dolphins started with the ball and after a gain of 9 on a first down pass completion the Dolphins scored on a 31 Yd TD pass. An incomplete followed on third down and then a pass completion for 12 more on fourth down. A TD and 12 yards gained for the possession.

The Red and Black started slowly with an incomplete followed by a sack on their first two downs. On third down they passed for a gain of 9 yards and had to go for it on fourth down picking up another 12 yards. For the possession a total of 21 yards gained.

The Red and Black completed four consecutive passes in their next possession (15, 7, 11 and 7 yards) with the final completion for a TD. A touchdown for the possession.

On their final possession the Dolphins trailed in toatl yards gained and had to move the ball. On first down a pass completion for 8 yards got them to within 1 to tie. Incompletions on second and third down put the pressure on. Being out of FG range the Dolphins had to add yards and on fourth down completed a pass for a gain of 8 yards and the win.
