To all of my EF family

I'm sorry to put this out on this post but it needs to be said.
I was told that a coach was telling other coaches that i left miggle late Saturday night was because i loss to Geno and this is not true not at all,
I left miggle because my wife just loss her mom and she was crying all weekend long and she wanted me to come home so that was a no brainier,
me and my girls pack up and left, my wife went to the funeral in Mississippi and got back home on Wednesday and me and my girls left on Thursday ,
so i had to get to my wife she is my world and I'm her rock so i had to go.
i told Mike Guttmann and Tookie,Dearell B. and Norbert ,and i think 2 or 3 more coaches what was going on. so that coach told you that i left because
i loss to Geno don't believe what he said it's not true.

it's sad when a coach you think is a friend dose this to you.

Just stuff the game doesn't need.

Best wishes to your wife and family Jim.

rjackson 01-26-2011 01:43 PM

Say Cuzzz.......

......you don't need to explain to anyone on why you left. U a grown ********** man if MFer's are saying that ********** dem Jimmy, take care of home 1st. My prayers go out to you and wifey man. Teresa lost her Grandfather last week and he was like a father to her more then her real dad. So I know what you are going through with your wife bro. As for the kids that made that statement, well kids will be kids dawg!!

Unfortunately, every time I think we're gathering a sense of community in this hobby, someone comes along and ruins it. It's a shame that someone drew that conclusion, Jim. I didn't know that was going on, else I certainly would have given you my best wishes at the time.

So while they are dated by a few days, please accept my condolences for your wife and your family. Prayers and best wishes heading y'all's way. It looked like your daughters had a blast at convention, which was great to see.

Glad we got to hang out a bit at Miggle, it was great to see you at work during the tournament. It also meant a lot to me when I introduced you to Veronica and you noted how she had found "a good man." Much appreciated, my friend.

If someone thinks people up and walk out of tournaments because they lose a game, then they seriously don't have any clue what the hobby is about, and they oughta take up stamp collecting or match stick organizing.

Remember, kids, God won't care what your won-loss record was.

Jim,
No need to explain to us ...PERIOD!!! And as far as you running away pouting, never happened! I watched the game and I thought that both you two displayed a very impressive amount of calm and sportsmanship during that tough game. Many things could have been debated and fought over, but both you and Geno played above that junk...and the two of you should be commended for it!!!

Your friend,
Mark

It's really too bad you even have to come on here and address this.

My condolences to you and your family.

Jim, Gosh this is why I do what I do

Jim,

I have no idea what happened between you and Geno so I plead ignorant to that. However, again, guys put too much emphasis on outcome of games that you can not enjoy the moment.

You have nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, to explain to people about why you left. Truthfully, if you leave, it's nobody's business but you and your family. Other than that, the H E L L with them.

I get so tired of accusations or cryptic messages about wins or losses. Guys tried to read into things without really knowing what's really going on but somehow draw their conclusions. If you really don't have all the facts, you're just going on speculation - and that's it!

When it comes to life and death, we owe no one an explanation about our disappearance from an event. You can tell them if you want but where I stand on things, I could really care less what they think. Your family will long be with you long after you kick your last field goal. And your wife's health is #1 foremost. Let me tell you, if my wife would have been crying or needed any assistance, whether its a championship game or 1at round, that's a no-brainer. So don't think you owe NO ONE an explanation. You would have owed your wife an explanation if you had not come to her aid/rescue.

If I am you, I probably would delete saying I am sorry to anyone or even write an explanation here.

WE THE DAVIS' GOT NOTHING BUT LOVE FOR THIS HOBBY.

dallcow4life28 01-26-2011 04:33 PM

What a turn-off

Why should a coach have to explain himself to anyone? This kind of stuff is the one thing that turns me off sometimes--TOO MUCH TALKING--especially behind people's backs. It's the reason I don't talk over the phone much with too many guys. I finished high school 25 years ago.

I don't know you personally, Jim, but I feel where you are coming from. You don't have to explain anything to anybody--especially people that think they are still in grade school. I'm just sayin...just show up for your games, and play. Personally, I have no dog in this fight, but there's too much bull******** in this hobby, and i don't have time for it. Just something to think about, guys.

49ers_Fan 01-26-2011 04:36 PM

Jim Davis 01-26-2011 04:44 PM

THANKS TO ALL
I KNOW I DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN MYSELF TO ANYONE BUT I WANT EVER ONE TO KNOW WHY I LEFT AND DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU HEARD AND TO LET THAT COACH KNOW I KNOW.

Lesson

I for one have learned a valuable lesson from this unfortunate situation, or shall I say had it reinforced...

1.) Don't listen to what anyone says. (Gossip)
2.) Don't repeat anything anyone says. (Gossip)
3.) Just have fun, practice and help others.

Condolences to you, your wife and your family!!

sweetka 01-26-2011 05:27 PM

As with everything else involving gossip and chat . . .

Things can get blown out of proportion without talking with that friend. What I see is all these people indicting an alleged wrongdoer with limited information.

This board sucks for that. This community relies on who says something first, not what the facts are. That's probably why one guy who's currently banned from the board can be visciously attacked because other people now speak highly of them.

Joe, you hit it on the head while many others jumped in like eye witnesses.

Again, my condolences to you and your family.

I know nothing happened with Geno

Geno is as good of a guy as there is in the game, but its those that may watch games wanting to make something out of the wins and losses and why guys may leave is the problem.

It's called "Pot-stirring". Geno and Jim could probably play each other 100 times and leave each other shaking, huggin' and just hangin' out but someone would make something out of that.

We just can't just say "They had fun" and leave it at that.
