Whats up fellas, I dont post commentary very often, but do to the circumstances, theres no way i can sit back and watch great people destroy what so many of us have sacrificed and work so hard for,:( which is the pleasure of playing EF period. It dont matter if your playing with the latest custom team or red vs. yellow. The differences grew out of where your from that dictated how u played, so the ones up front pushing there particular flare for the game must recognize that EF is regional. Thats what makes it original,:) I love traveling seeing the different styles thats what makes it worth it for me being a customizer makes it possible. To even suggest that all the major leagues around the country play under the same rules, for what:confused:should we care that much about how people play, the simple fact is that there playin is enough.Any attemp to unify the rules should start with the major tournaments not the other way around.A national tournament is the best bet at this point, then take it from there.Stop wounding each other, no politics for me ive never written a rule book in my life. please respond peace.

Megawatts...

Bruce,

There's a lot of wisdom in your words, and your message has been received loud and clear. Thank you!

Peace,

Don Smith

Dang!

I didn't know you were so deep, Bruce! ;) Good stuff. I agree that MF should stay diverse with the 5 or 6 different styles throughout the country. That's what makes it interesting when you go to different parts and see their little twists and idiosynchrocies. No 2 leagues are the same. I think???

Very true, Megawatts

That's always been one of the great things about this hobby - the many ways to play this game!

I think Bruce is onto something here. I see it a little like the College Bowl vs. Playoffs argument.

Is having 1 National Champ what's driving this idea of an all under one roof convention? If that is it, I really think that will be difficult to pull off. There may never be 1 true champ in our hobby, is that okay? I think it is. Even now with the Miggle convention, the champ is not really considered the Champ of all miniature football. He is just the winner at the Miggle tournament. No disrespect, but since we don't all agree with the rules, he will never get his due.

As it is in College football, even with a playoff system, someone will always be left out. In March Madness, the 65th team always thinks they should be in.

I still like the idea of a National Convention, but let's make sure we do it for the right reasons. If it's to see who's #1, we should step back and take another look.

Narional Tournament

Bruce,

Very well said. That's why I suggested taking a survey to see if this is really what people want. It will cut down on alot of frustrations for organizers.

BRUCE, EXCELLENT POST !!!!!!!!

BRUCE, EXCELLENT

Alot of times the greatest post come from the guy's who do not post that much. like yourself, dwayne jennings, frank johnson. When you see these names starting a thread you say to yourself, ' I WONDER WHAT THEY ARE POSTING ABOUT, I GOT TO READ THIS" . Your words display great wisdom. Great wisdom for me personally. I am done with how a person plays, because like you said, there are many way's. We should not change how a person views the game, just go play how you view the game. Jimbo is right, there are many twist around the country. I think the key for everyone is to play in a league and help develop it so it is successful for that group. You can't save the world playing ef so you might as well go and have fun in it.

I saw this at last years convention where the coaches from ohio spoke volumes about there league. Many of these guy's hardly post. They just love there area and the league they formed. They were not too concerned about rules outside of there own, they only spoke on theirs. franny j-boy is probably the most passionate guy i met. He eat's, drinks. and sleep's miniature football %1000. He kept saying during the weekend, 'well in our league". The smartest thing is to join a league deveolp your team ans strategy and just be a league guy. Don smith alway's said he wishes every entity will succeed. But be sucessful doing what you do.

We had a travel league planned maybe a year ago that would have been extremely fun to play in. This one post has inspired me to get the ball rolling again. I am not a great league planner so i will ask the previous planners if they would like to get this together again. I would love to have the OHIO coaches take part in something like this. I would love to have mike pratt, chris stacey, eightball and the like take part in this. My outlook on the hobby now is to be a better coach and just "line them up and play"

Bruce, i will give you a call on the board making project. Thanx for a post that speaks volumes for many !!!!!!!!!!
