real live unbiased test
 

i will sacrifice my time and do extensive testing on any base you send me , providing you put your initials on the base, and write on an index card or small peice of paper, how long it took to tweak it, what era and manufactor it came from and if you want your name listed on here in the results.
this will take some time, so i will accept the bases(1 entry only PLEASE) until December 15th. i will number the bases with magic marker on the bottom of the base, so do not write on the base underside, just put your initials on the back.
my test will include one on one 7 times against the strongest base near it. and a sled push for time and distance, i will lock down the speed control dial and ALL testing will run in both directions starting on the 30 yd line near the dial, then on the opposite 30. please use only complete factory bases, dont frankenstien. remember, list all pertinant info for your entry, and if nothing else comes from it, i will get a few good strong bases. i will try to post results as soon as possible.
i will leave the speed contest to someone else.
also, remember, if you dont want your name mentioned in this testing, please let me know on the detail card you send, and i will list its results as a "number". and NO, i will not give out the numbers. So come one and all, if you are a tweaker, or have a base someone else did for you, you can do without, send it my way, and lets see who comes up a champion in my little test........

oh yeah, based on responces to this post, i will post my P.O. box, if there is at least 4 people interested.....
oh yeah, the figure i will use will be the 67 BM tackle figure, since i have a few new ones with only factory paint.

I hope you get more response than I did for the bus to the convention post. I was checking for it, and it was on the 3rd page!!!!

Will these bases come back to the owner? Will there be prizes awarded, or is this just for information purposes only? I always thought of having all the guys who tweak in one room, and they all go out of bag, and see who comes up with the strongest base. Is any base banned? You said no frankenstein, how about boiled? Again, good luck my friend.
If I tweaked, I would enter a base, but everyone who knows me, knows I don't do the dirty work.

the endurance test...this test will actually be REPEATED identical testing for an undetermined amount of months, probably 1 year, just to see if any coaches work has a long shelf life
to be honest, there are only 2 coaches bases that have witheld my test of time , they both reside in the northeast, and know who they are, if they wish me to post their names on here from bases i aquired from them in 2000 and 2001, they can email me and give me the ok, you see, i dont wish to step on any toes, the entrant must not mind me posting their name, or i can only include the entry as "exibit?"
at this time no prizes are offered, however, in the spirit of competition, their names would and could be gladly posted here from the results i get, probably each month i would retest all bases and record and post new data.

i would not use these bases on any of my "teams " until, and if, the 1 year time period has gone by.

You know this could be fun. I'm in and I promise it will be my own tweak. I'm known for my usage of norbert bases but lets see what I can do.

sounds great so far. i am not really worried about the 1st winner, i wish you all luck, i think it will be really interesting to see who can make a super strong base, and also, who can make a super strong base KEEP its strength for at least a whole year.

it needs to be at my EF/MF shop no later than dec. 15th please.

From past experiences, you will be getting 98% of all the bases via special delivery on midnight of the 15th...no, I'm not kidding.

Usually I tweak strong ttc bases, not super strong ttc bases, and the strength usually lasts anywhere from a few plays to a few days. But I'll give it a shot just to see how my tweak job fairs against others over the course of time.

I believe you stated in your post that you wanted to get at least 4 people to participate and then you would provide your information.

I will send you my tweak job in less than a week after you provide me with your address information. You can send me a PM wih your contact info if you want.

Any recommemdation on how to package and ship one tweaked base. Thx!

REMEMBER guys, this is an experiment for strength as soon as i get it, then once a month for about a year, just to see how they work and LAST. ive got a nice little UNtweaked base that will be the measuring stick after time steals some of the tweak, so everyone please let me know amount of time to tweak,rate it as one of your bes/worst/or mediocre tweak jobs, and try to describe the manufactorer,and approximate time period the base came from.also make sure you let me know if you want your name posted in the results or if you want me to give your base a codename and only you will know it. i will really like it if we get a lot of response, and you dont really have to respond here, just send in your strong tweaked base with pertinant info. thanks again guys.

one of the reasons i posted the "contest" was because i had gotten a few bases from some of the good tweakers lately. i got to tell you, with hunting and projects , the last month or so has been NO MF for me, but today i sat down and ran some tests from bases by several people , and i must say, what an interesting find. i wont go into details, but let me throw this out there, cats in Cali and Mich. can tweak.
my biggest suprise came from some bases i had put on a team over a year ago, and just left them there, one i did, 4 Raveena Al did, and 2 Donald from Beaumont did, i have to say, they really really held up to the "time test" they appear to be as good as they were 25 months ago. now these new ones i just got in last month are a little stronger, and one is really fast,im hoping they keep their tweak. thanks to you Mich. guys for the bases, BUT i will not use any of these in the contest, as these were already here when i started the contest.
Right now, using miggle BM blocker figures only, the strongest base is out of Cali. but it isnt by much, im thiking another test next weekend will determine a lot.

I've had the same experience. Have you ever gone back and tested those bases again? I'm thinking that they will come back unless they were over tweeked.

hello Wally. i also beleive it will be facinating(plus i get a whole bunch of free tweaked bases.....lololol). i got my first legitimate contestant today, the contestant is going by code name " SIDU ". i must say, not only did the contestant follow each detail, on the index card, his base is phenominal.

SIDU, in preliminary testing, yours tested very well. on miggle 67BM blocker figures , it beat out 10 of my "stashed older tweaks from legends in this hobby, but as per the agreement, they have not officially entered the contest yet, AND, a big AND, their stuff came from 1999, and 2000, and it still holds its own. i have a few more to test it against before i try it on hogleg tackle figures. i will only test on exact like figures.

i must once again thank SIDU for excellent info on his entry index card, he listed color/model/manufactor/time to tweak/time of day tweak was done/type of base/type of dial etc etc.

Bill P. your "downlinemen pose was able to defeat the base with a weaker base i had, but it isnt really a fair comparsion , i just thought i would see how well those down linemen worked, and Boy do they. i would really like some of my old EF/MF friends to enter, you can use a codename, if you like. i dont want to step on any toes with ANYONE, but i do find it fasinating to see the good bases, and see which type of tweaking last in the long run.

P.S., you dont have to send it prioroty mail, even tho my first entant did, maybe that will help by it getting here so quick, or maybe it dont need no help, that thing is STRONG.

quick question... i know nothing about tweaking bases, but when reading this post i noticed people saying that bases lose their strength or speed? never heard that before... about how long does a base stay good before you have to get another tweaked base?

the main purpose of my "contest" ,well besides getting super strong bses to put on my team,,,lol. is to find out how long bases from different makers/tweakers/geography etc etc keep their strength. i have several from the late 90's that almost have kept there original tweaked power and speed, but they are not quite as strong as the ones currently being tweaked. im sure there are several variables, age of plastic/type of plastic/age of tweak methods etc etc.
hopefully, if i dont get a game in tomball or houston this sunday, i will spend the afternoon testing more. please remember to send info with your base such as tweak time, date of tweak, type/style/vendor of base /shell/wheel and so on. BTW, im still accepting entry's.
