A "Historical" fantasy team...

OK, I need some opinions here...and I know I've come to the right place! Since I am a high school history teacher, I've decided to create a team of 15 offensive, and 15 defensive players that fit the following criteria: They have made a positive affect on the course of American history. I need a racial balance, but I'm going to have to leave the ladies out of this one. I have several ideas, but wanted to see what you think. The position, and number should also "fit" at well.
Here is what I have so far:

QB: GW (George Washinton #1 Buzzball QB with white locks flowing from Helmet)
RB: MLK(Martin Luther King #39)
RB: TJefferson #24

LB: Tiger Woods
DB: Cesar Chavez

etc.

let me know some must have people, and their number and position from all walks of life (Einstein, Thomas Edison, George Washington Carver, etc)

thanks,

Matt

Gerald Ford/OL just like back in Michigan

Why not just have a team of all 43 presidents.

Historical Team

Awesome stuff so far guys...thanks and keep them coming!

I love the Abe Lincoln at TE or WR. 6ft 4in, and great hands! :)

By the way, the team's name is the U.S. Spirit. I have a pic up some of the Uniform. I think it will turn out pretty cool

I've done something like this with my own little tabletop baseball dice game. I have two leagues of theme-teams in which the players are assigned based on a common theme linking them. For instance, my Ft. Apache Dukes are a team of John Wayne characters from his films. The Utopia Philosophes —famous philosophers. The Kitty Hawk Aeros are all aviation pioneers, presently from around the dawn of powered flight (I've included Otto Lillienthal in outfield even though he exclusively experimented with gliders in the late 19th century). I also have the Respublica Senators who are, as you'd guess, a team of famous senators in history; including three Romans as well as two members of the Athenian senate from the time of the Pelopponesian War.

You can't miss by organising EF teams based on handpicked themes. You'll wind up with a rather interesting league to say the least.

Shouldn't Bill Clinton be quarterback, since he was the one making all the passes?

How about these?
Truman WR #00 Because he dropped the big bomb (make sure he is a back up though)

Nixon HC (head coach) And you think Belichek is good at spying!

Reagan CB #40 Cornerbacks should have short memories, no one is more qualified!

George H Bush #41 MLB He could stand over the QB and try to "read his lips" for a change

Geore W. Bush #43 Special Teams He could talk a big game, but when it was gametime, disappear to Alabama.

George Washington #1 Safety He is the last line of defense

Dennis Kucinich #07 (like space oddysey 2207) Rover LB If there is anyone who looks the part of Rover, it is him!

Ross Perot #92 DL He promised to close the gap, Just have to make sure the opposing team doesn't try to disrupt his daughter's next wedding.

Obama Barrak (sp?) #08 OL No one wants to pull out yet lead the way like him.

FDR #1 WR He can go long, long, long, all-day, multi-terms!

Had many more, but they were controversial and kinda mean and I didn't want to offend anyone. Remember, my favorite commedian is Bill Maher, so I like that kinda stuff.

Don't take this the wrong way, but....

On Defense,
On defense you want some of the meanist hardest hitting Moby Joby's there ever was:

Nose Tackle: Vlad"The Impaler"
DT: Joseph Stalin "Go Red"
DT:Benito"El Duce" Musilini "Go on two"
DE:Gangus Kahn
DE:Attilah "The Hun"
LB: Gen. George C. Patten "Old Iron Pants"
LB: Gen Douglass MacArthur "Old blood & Guts"
MLB: Niketa (ck.sp) Krueshev
SS: Adolph Hitler "We will never forget"
FS: Paul Pot " The Killing fields"

These are the greatest vilians/field generals that I could think of at this time. Each one of these individuals has shaped world history like no other. In my mind I would use them as ahard core defense that only the best offensive juggarnaught could stop! Otherwise you would tremble before the scourage!
PS, Patton & Mcarthur were chosen for their aggressiveness!

Miltron 11-29-2007 01:59 PM

historical team...

Mark...great stuff!

I appreciate the world leaders, but this is an all American team...maybe I can make up another team of some of the other folks to play against!
