Will The Pats Go 19-0

the poll

Badger4Life 12-26-2007 10:27 PM

16-0 Yes. But I have a feeling the Cowboys or Packers will pull one of the upsets of the centruy in the super bowl

However, they should go 19-0 and set the Mark by which all future teams will now have to strive for.....it is an incredible feat they are doing.....

This poll is far TOO easy. Of course they will go 19-0 UNFORTUNATELY. Back in September I started a post asking who would win the Super Bowl. I said it would be the Pats and Saints. Plus I predicted that the Pats would go NO less than 13-3. I was right about the Pats and not the Saints. The Pats should give the Raiders and Dolphins a piece of the Lombardi Trophy. Al Davis and the Dolphins management gave them the Lombardi Trophy by trading away two quality WR's. Randy Moss is much like Corey Dillon. Corey Dillon was a problem with the Bengals but when he went to the Pats he was as quiet as a church mouse. The same with Moss. We might as well start talking about the 2009 Season. Yes I said the 2009 because this season and the '08 season belong to the Pats. Remember I said it first.

I disagree

If you haven't noticed lately...the Patriots are begininng to show they are human and the Colts and Jaguars are peaking at the right time. I think the Patriots over confidence will lead to a divisional playoff shocker and that the AFC Championship will be played in Indy...no bias here...it is truely my gut feeling. And I think Dallas will play either Jacksonville or Indy in the Superbowl. The pressure will be too much for the Patriots...my two cents...

Coach_J 12-27-2007 10:59 AM

Yes I have noticed lately that the Pats have shown they are vulnerable. They easily could have lost 3 of there last 5 games and those were against teams with records below .500. Still they won. I did watch a good portion of there game against the Jets and was stunned that they only scored one offensive TD and that came after a blocked punt. For some reason they have played down to there level of competition lately but blasted the Steelers. Not only did they blast the Steelers but I predict that they will beat the Giants by at LEAST 10 points this weekend. Then they will have defeated both Manning's in the same year. I am not a Patriots fan so MAYBE recent history is against them. Here is what I am talking about.

In 2003 Peyton Manning and Steve McNair were the NFL's Co-MVP's. However neither the Colts or Titans won the Super Bowl.

In 2004 Peyton Manning broke Dan Marino's single season record for TD passes in a season and was league MVP. The Colts did not win the Super Bowl.

In 2005 Shawn Alexander broke the single season record for most TD's and was named league MVP. The Seahawks did not win the Super Bowl.

In 2006 LaDanian Tomlinson broke the single season record for most TD's and was named league MVP. The Chargers did not win the Super Bowl.

Here is more history.

The last three AFC top seeds '04 Steelers, '05 Colts, and '06 Chargers did not win or even make it to the Super Bowl.

One more.

What do the last three Super Bowl winners '05 Pats, '06 Steelers, and '07 Colts have in common ? They all wore white jerseys. This year the NFC representative is supposed to wear white jerseys.

Hopefully all of this works against the Pats. Still the Pats will luck through all of that and go 19-0. As I said previously get ready for the 2009 season because the 2007 and 2008 season belongs to the Pats.

are you guy's for real !!!!!!!!!!!

first,i don't like the pat's at all .but when you beat the colts and the cowboy's at there place you got to give props when it's due.they play up to the level of that team. as you saw they march up the field on the 'COLTS' defense that everybody said the was better than last year's.now the only pass rusher they got is out .Dallas and Green Bay ( i think the packer's are 1 and done this year) can't keep up.so for all you Patroits haters or old Dolphins fans JUST SIT BACK AND WATCH.you will not see an other team like this again. thmbsp$ thmbsp$

SteelerFan1967 12-27-2007 02:04 PM

Who can beat them?

I keep looking at the "what ifs" and I can't see a team that can beat them.

If there was one team that had a "lights out defense" this year (there really isn't one) and a decent offense, then I think THAT team would have a chance. But I don't see that team on the Pats radar anywhere.

Truthfully, if the Pats stay healthy and focused, the only thing that might mess up their plans would be some nasty weather in New England.

Offensively, they are almost unstoppable. If the other team can't get to Brady, then forget about it, it's over. There's no team in the NFL with the linebackers and D backs needed to cover Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney and Watson/Maroney all at the same time. And even if they get decent coverage, Brady knows he can throw to Moss when he is covered and Moss can make the catch. When Moss is motivated to play, like he has been this season, he looks like one of the best WR of all time.

Defensively, they do what they need to...they have enough talent and experience to stop a few drives and get their offense back on the field...

You combine those two with the fact that they probably have the best coaching staff in the league (wow it hurts to say that...I have never been a Bellichek fan)...and you can see why the look unbeatable. That staff knows how to game plan and they are the best at "in game" adjustments. Bellichek's guys almost never lose two halves...they know how to make the adjustments that win games...

19-0 is almost a given -- it would take a terrible "off day" by almost the whole team, or some bad weather that would make the offense less potent -- for another team to really have a shot at beating them...

O-schemer 12-27-2007 04:10 PM

I think the Pats will tie the 17-0 mark set by the Dolphins, but I think it could end there. I could see the Jaguars or the Colts beating them, as it is very difficult to beat a team twice in the same year, even for the Patriots. I am pulling for the Patriots to go 19-0. It would be an awesome accomplishment.

Colts & Jags have the best chance of beating them, but...

I think the Colts & Jags have the best chance of beating the Pats. If the Pats make it to Tha Show, they will trounce whomever they face from the NFC. I think both the Boys & Pack are over rated. The best team in the NFC @ this time is unfortunately the Eagles, who will be watching from home. Also, the Pats will most likely get lucky and never even face the Jags, or Colts due to having the #1 seed, and the benefit of playing the last seeded team on the AFC side. The Chargers, or Steelers will probably shoot their wad against the Colts, or Jags, then lay an egg against the Pats. I'm pulling hard for the Browns to make it in and pull the upset of the millinium by defeating THE GREAT NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS of 2007.

The Patriots will not go undefeated, nor will they make it to the Super Bowl. The Giants, Ravens and others put the blueprint for beating the Pats out for the world to see. If not for the refs, the Ravens would have beat the Pats in the regular season last year.....I think the Pats scored their winning TD on 6th and goal....

It is simple....plant Brady on his ******...he is a wuss and can't throw on his ******. I so loved watching the Giants burying him in the Super Bowl. Expect to see lots of that this year. Some teams have to be more creative....bring safeties, corners and OLB's....but the Patriot offensive line is not as powerful as it once was.

I like the Chargers to win the AFC this year. I don't like the Chargers....but I think they will be dominant.

TVsCHACHI 08-24-2008 08:08 AM

A lot of cats were talking Chargers, until Merriman's injury; that cat is out for the season. What kind of depth they got at LB?

This is going to be another great year.

Can't wait to see what the Jets do.

Nada

GOING 18-0 IS ONCE IN A LIFETIME DREAM SEASON FOR ANY TEAM , LET ALONE GOIN 19-0 IN BACK TO BACK SEASONS, THAT SUPERBOWL UPSET LAST YEAR IS WEIGHING HEAVILY ON THE PATS MINDS , I CAN VISUALIZE A GIANT LETDOWN FOR THE BRADY BUNCH THIS SEASON AND THERE DEFENSE NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER THOUGH THEY WILL STILL LIMP INTO THE PLAYOFFS AT 10-6 AT THE BEST.

GreenBayGlenn 08-26-2008 06:48 PM

no way

This is an old post getting recycled again, but hey, it works!

Here's my take. The Pats have a target on them, so I think everybody they play is going to beat their a#$ senseless to teach 'em a lesson from last year!

Patriots will be the first team in NFL history to go 19-0 one year, and 0-16 the next! LOL! ROFL! LMAO! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
