4-wide 1-back formation

Wow, looks like the defense is coming on the blitz to force an early pass. However the defense has too many one-on-one matchups to have it work.

I love this offensive set. It gets even better if you have a running QB and move him around a lot! Throw in two receivers on boat bases and this offense is a juggernaut. I also like having the running back on a ttc base to have the defense guessing even more.

NEW CASTLE HiTMEN 02-29-2008 02:10 PM

Thats a bad defense to play against four wide. If one receiver gets behing the "D" it's over. I shift into this formation alot. I have three receivers and two backs. I shift a RB into the slot. The "D" (unless playing a zone) then has to shift out of it's formation. It gives me a clue to what there going to do . You can't bump and run every receiver.

after futher review

I want to get the hitman on the field!!! You see the holes in the defense and understand the offensive design.....

I will have add you to my list of coaches to play.... great jobthmbsp$ thmbsp$

Defense is depending on one on one coverage to hold up with little pressure, good luck.

jeff 03-01-2008 03:42 PM

I like to bring heat and I love when someone runs that formation vs. me.
I play my cover defenders on a inside shoulder technique . I let them run with the wr downfield . I only rush 3 d linemen , their main goal is defend the run. I do bring 2 outside blitzers that will bring heat on the qb . The qb will have less than 1 second to run the board or he will be sacked.
I play 2 safeties over the top on the wr's.
Yes this is a big risk defense, but it is what I have always ran. I just hate to set back and let the offense dictate to me what I am going to do.
I will always live and die by pressure.

Coach K-LO 03-03-2008 09:16 AM

No pressure

On this play, the Texans did not get any pressure on the QB and all recivers got open for scores....... Their run defense was being hammered up to this point in the game.....

THanks K-LO. Ditto on the game. If I go to the convention it would be an honor Sir. Jey Jeff, one second to pass. Man you must have some fast outside linebackes. My receivers couldn't even get off of the line in one second. WOW! Does the Mid-Ohio allow for pivots? I like to pivot my offensive tackles to block the outside LB's.

Offensive line pivots?? Wouldn't that be illegal motion??

Actually, we allow that you may povit an O-linemen only when uncovered

NEW CASTLE HiTMEN 03-03-2008 10:41 AM

The pivots are snap of the ball reactions to the "D" that are made before the board is turned on. I am trying to keep two teenage boys (my nephews)interested in MF. They wanted this to keep the game moving without the so called MF scrums. As long as any part of the base is still on the line of scrimmage we allow "O" line pivots. I know this is an advatahe to the offense but again my nephews like offense.

It is a trade off.
Yes we allow any lineman to pivot. At this time we are a offensive league. Just look at Pat Morris, he beat our defending champ 28-14. Pat passed for around 350- 400 yards. In our league , you better have a receiver or 5 that can go 100 yards in less then 5 seconds. And we use big boards, either Watts or 513 boards. If a corner misses his assignment then the wr is gone.

NEW CASTLE HiTMEN 03-03-2008 01:27 PM

100 yards in five seconds!!! WOW! Do you guys have a four or six cylinder engine powering that board? :D I thought my guys were fast running a 100 yard 620 in eleven seconds. Mamamia!

Thats why I have a QB that can get all over the field rolling out left or right. And my WR is on a boat base and pretty much unstoppable. Now if only I had a run game to compliment this offense.

Jeff we had a shootout and had my defense been stronger I think we would have taken yours boys out. That last play I just went for the wrong WR...i second guessed my skills..NEVER again buddy...see you in the playoffs.

See you in the playoffs.
Our big boards are 26 x 48 roughly.
