The Great Jimmie Boy Davis In Houston

I could not have asked for a better replacement to represent the great hoston texans franchise than my good friend jim davis. Jim, you are a master tweeker and a great coach and you will do fine in the D.F. W.. have mike or hudson send you that passing chart they developed out there this way you wont have to use the ttqb. Jim i know you get crazy during gamedays and you will fit right in. I can't wait for you to meet my man don hudson. The 2008-2009 road warrior group is immaculate to say the least. a great group of coaches joining one league. Say what's up to dwoyne and pep for me. Jim, you will have your hands full when you play these guy's.

CONGRATULATIONS ON JOINING THE DFW LEAGUE

a big THANKS my friend I'll do the Houston Texans Justice but your friend mike Robertson I'm going to beat him like he stole something of mine, like the AFC south division.

Jimmie Boy...

Well you can have the AFC conference title, we don't play for those anyhow. We only play for CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

I can't wait to have you on board my friend. I'll have the chance to show the world how to keep a bully from bullying you. Lol

I hope I don't have to play you! Lol

mklingbeil 06-10-2008 02:48 PM

Dang,
The BEST tweaker in the East is coming to Dallas huh? It is likely that Jim is the best in the nation, the only person I see to compete with him is Vince Peatros. Look out DFW, you ain't seen anything like the team Jim will show up with!

Good luck in that league Jim, I spent some time there and loved the people and the rules...it has impacted the way I play EF forever! Heck, if I lived there, I would join in a heartbeat.

Mark

Mark K,

nice of you to think so, but there are others that can tweak up a base to perform. Looks like the DFW is gonna be some hard hitting games going on down there.....Good Luck to all in the DFW 2008

Thanks Mark , I Thank You Are Right About Me And Vince, And To Rj And K-lo I Know That There Is A Lot Of Good Tweaker Out There,
But Between Me , Vince And Norbert Everyone Else Is 2nd Best To Me.
So Don't Get Mad Try To Get Even.
I'm Going To The Dfw To Have Fun And Win Some Games ,
But To Have Fun 1st And Play In The Great Dfw League With Some Great Coaches.

The Hulk Has Spoken So If You Want Some Come Get Some I Can Back Up All My Talk.

mklingbeil 06-11-2008 03:42 PM

K-Lo,
Of course there are other great tweakers...probably too many to name (myself definitely not being one of them). I love the work of Mike Pratt, Don Smith, Norbert, and plenty of others. But from my experience, Jim tweaks bases that are just lightening quick and strong as heck at the same time. That is why I like his bases so much!

As far as Vince goes, to misquote that old country song, "He was tweaking, when tweaking wasn't cool." Well, not cool so much as not being done at all. As far as I know, He was tweaking bases at the current level over ten years ago, and no one else was even close to that level. That says something to me!

Everyone has their favorite tweakers, and for different reasons. Again, don't get me wrong, I am not impuning the work of these other excellent tweakers, just stating my opinion.

Anyways, good luck in the DFW League Jim, you will do well there!
Mark

I Told Everyone You Would Get Your Head Handed To You By Those Boys In Texas, News Flash, Your Not That Good, You Struggled To Beat My Brother Tony In The Laefl League And He Had Not Played In 14 Years And He Has Always Been Terrible. Over Night You Became An Average Coach In That Texas League Son. You Forgot We Scrimmaged In My Garage For Those Two Hours And You Had One First Down Homey, I Scored Every Time I Had The Ball, you Even Weighed My Men Prior To The Scrimmage Because You Insisted My Men Were Over Weight And Accused Me Of Stealing. Should I Share The Private Message You Sent Me About Asking Advice On How To Tweak Unboiled Bases So You Could Play Competitively In The Texas League, I'll Spare You The Shame. You Lost To Mike Turner Dude, Get A Grip, Remember 80-17

Vince

rjackson 06-11-2008 04:34 PM

Come on Vince let it all out.......

..........you ain't that good the jury is still out on you. Lost to Mike Turner because of the manipulating of the board speed man so come on. I bet Mike 35-0 the year before on my field that runs much smoother and faster so it is what it is. Not once did you let me weigh your men while we were scrimmaging in yo garage potna. You offered me a running back figure that we all know was under weight but never let me weigh the hogs you had. I was beating the ---- out of every team you pulled out the box son, do you remember??? Then you brought out the 4.0 team you built for the DFWEFL against my 2.9 and 3.1 Panthers of course you was gonna hand me my tail. Put the post up about me asking advice, I have asked several people about tweaking non boiled bases. I even asked my man Norbert, but no one can say I did RJ's team.

BTW we are all waiting on you to bring yo --- down to Texas Vince, from what I seen in Texas you ain't that good with the lil dink and dunk football you play, these boys play down here and it ain't the rugby scrum you like to play, they actually coach down here instead of the line-em up and hook the arms ---- you play down in L.A. So miss me wit the B.S. get yo squad together, non-boiled bases bring yo --- down here and see what you got!!! Like Jimbo said leave the past in the past about the 9000 yds rushing, that is over with just like my two championships in L.A!!

It is a new era Vince talk is cheap, get off the couch!!! BTW I never lost to Mike 80-17, you mean you beat Mike 80-17!!! BTW I beat yo brother 28-0. Took it easy on him also. Was really brutalizing him, but he was such a nice guy I laid in the cut and didn't want to run up the score up on him!!!

Pirate Rick 06-11-2008 09:13 PM

seems kinda odd......

"But Between Me , Vince And Norbert Everyone Else Is 2nd Best To Me"

if this be the case then why did you send bases to vince to do for you??? if your that --- - good you should not need his help, fact of the matter is the bases youe sent here were a joke.... got pushed off the board with little effort.  so please...check the ego at the door. i dont care what ya won or who you beat... when ya go to some one else and then claim you cant be beat its just smoke and mirrors..

JIMBO 06-12-2008 01:29 AM

Let's Not Do This Guys

RJ, Rick, Vince and Jimmy: We all need to file the BS in the circular file and just be friendly and civil toward each other. I am friends with ALL ya'll, so let's not clutter this board up again with drama. There's only ONE way to see who's got the right stuff - PLAY BALL!!! Don and I have tried to get the BEST OF THE BEST together in one room for 3 years now. We actually nicknamed this year's SWB "The Legends Ball" hoping that RJ and Vince would show their stuff. I completely understand when life throws us curve balls and circumstances beyond our control send us in different directions, but we still should respect each other. At least in this PUBLIC forum. What we do behind closed doors and over the phone and in Private Messages is another thing. But when I see 4 of MY friends getting ready to go at it, I gotta do what I can do to diffuse the sitchiation!!!
  • What Vince has done is FACT: Stats and scores have been documented. Despite ALL of the razzing I've given him, he's still one of the best out there. I do respect that and everybody else has to too. But, Al Davis can't play ALL of his games in Oakland! He's gotta "Show Us The Money!!!" One day soon I hope. thmbsp$
  • BOTH RJ and Jimmy have gone undefeated in their respective leagues: RJ is a 2X LAEFL Champ; Jimmy is a perrenial Playoff Coach in the GLEFL and 1X Champ in Akron.
  • Jimmy has led the GLEFL in Rushing 7 years straight. I've got something to say about Year 8 tho! ;)

Rick: Keep the rose-colored sunglasses on and don't get caught in the middle of these tiffs. I learned the hard way! RJ and Vince have history that I don't even want to know about. They gotta settle it on the board. I got my popcorn ready when that game happens. thmbsp$

Now, everybody apologize to everybody and drop it. Please. Peace.

rjackson 06-12-2008 12:00 PM

Jimbo...

Rick and I talked last night so him and I are cool. No riff there. Jim and I have no problems, but Vince and I need t0 get a game in together. Enough of this talk, this has to happen!!!

My 2 cents...

The great thing about electric football these days is that the great tweakers are sharing their knowledge and what they have learned about tweaking with the entire electric football community.

I spoke to Jim Davis on the phone and he told me that the stuff he tweaks for others is just as strong as the stuff that he has on his teams. What's great about this is that he is sacrificing bullying his opponents for the welfare of the game.

With this being said Vince, Jim is a great tweaker. Arguably the best in all the land. However, because he is willing to share what he has learned with the masses when he play he still has to coach in order to win! I'm sure he wouldn't want it any other way.

I'm one to admit that I can't tweak bases but I can put together a championship team using what my hard earned money has purchased and out coach the best of them. The unique thing about this game is that it does have a strategic side to it that must be explored if all things are equal.

I remember growing up playing a game on Nintendo call "Double Dribble". I had discovered a secret that allowed me to shoot 3 pointers from almost anywhere on the court. I dominated my family members and friends. It took very little coaching and strategy to win. However, once I showed a few people how the trick worked, I was no longer the dominant force I once was. I had to now out coach them to victory. This taught me a valuable lesson. You're only as good as the people around you. I was not as good as I thought I was when I had the secret but I got better when everone else around me got better because I had to now play smarter and be more creative. Sharing creates parity and competition. Maybe some of us need the help of others to develop the talents on our teams as do coaches of the NBA, NFL, & MLB need the help of strength trainers and assistants to develop their players. However, once those players are developed the coach is the one who impliments the game plan, strategies, and ploys to utilize that talent in a way that helps his team win. So just because you tweak bases for someone or someone needs your help tweaking bases doesn't make you the better coach, it does however make you an excellent trainer.

R.J. may lose to you Vince. Reg may have also lost to you. Heck I've lost on several occasions but the greats are the ones that fall and are able to rise again.

You tweakers are great! We love you and thank you for your shared knowledge in the hobby. Without your help all the trophies would probably be in Norbs & Jim's house. Lol

So lets stop the arguing and line'em up!

If I am not mistaken

When Vince and I played, we played under a ruleset that I had ABSOLUTELY NO KNOWLEDGE OF.

I think I remember when Vince and I played, I would check his receivers to a point that they were headed straiight out of bounds. Then, thinking that they were basically out of the play, there was no need to worry about those guys. Vince would still throw to them to my surprise only to angle and turn them up. Not use to helping receivers run home, it was not something I had much interest in.

I remember in the Championship game that Vince and I had, I was headed in on a score to tie the ball game up. I threw a pass. If I recall, Chet was refereeing and he was standing way back from the play. We tell coaches get right up on the play to see the ball. It may have been Vince's cousin (I forget). I thought I hit the pass. A simple pass I hit very often. But the ref called incomplete. I think the score was 14-7. To me, that never told me anything.

I would love to play Vince again when I head out to the LA thing. It's been long over due. Now he knows the rules and I do too. And we don't help our players "head home". Vince is a great coach but I would love the opportunity to play my friend on the even playing field of the Shootout ruleset.

I tell you right off. I stink at every other ruleset it is. I have no interest in playing any other style of play. VP loves the Shootout ruleset so this would be great for him and myself to do battle for 4 quarters. I know I will not be able to keep up with him because he is so much better than me. But I would like to see if I can even score on the great one!
