All-Time New York Giants Pics

Hi All -

Thought I'd share a few pics of my latest project. I enjoyed painting and detailing this team, for my Dad was a big Giants fan, and he used to talk about the Giants greats when we watched the Giants games together while I was growing-up in Connecticut during the 70's. Although we watched a lot of losses during that "dark era" in Giants history, I'd enjoy it when he talked about the days that, "the Giants used to be great ": Defense to follow in a few weeks.

I painted them with the current uniforms and accessories, like gloves and wrist bands.

Thanks to the following:

FIGURES: SIW
CHIN STRAPS & FACEMASKS: SIW
DECALS: RAIDERMIKE
GIANTS BLUE & GREY PAINT: RAIDERMIKE
OTHER COLORS: TESTORS
HELMETS: RIDDELL :)

( thanks RM for the "Giants Blue" - it's not an easy color to match with other paint brands )

Met quite a few great coaches while at WinterFest last year, and I look forward to seeing everyone again - Russ ( I was the old guy wearing Patriot T-shirts :) )

Two Great Giants QB's pose for a pic: Phil Simms and Y.A. Tittle

Before he hit the Monday Night Broadcast Booth, Frank Gifford used to follow the awesome blocking of Rosie Brown.

Two TE Greats, Mark Bavaro and Bob Tucker:

Giant Legends: Jack Stroud, Alex Webster, Kyle Rote, Del Shofner, Gifford and Brown:

Some of the younger guys: Tiki Barber, Simms, Amani Toomer and Tucker

G-Men look hot!!

This is a very nice job, very crisp and clean. After seeing your team, I may have to do a team of G-men, perhaps in the red home jerseys. Thanks for sharing and keep those pics coming!

Thanks again..........

I enjoyed using "eyes" with this team - here's what they call, an "extreme close-up"

Bob Tucker's baack.

Great job on those G-men. As the long suffering :) coach of the MWEFL G-men, I can Appreciate ! BTW, I played HS ball (line) for Ray's brother Ed in the early 70's.

gerty 02-09-2007 06:29 PM

Ray Wietecha

Thanks Bobf61 -

Wow - having played for Ray Wietecha's brother - that's pretty cool !
If I remember correctly, Wietecha didn't miss a game in his 10 seasons for the Giants..........and for some reason, I've always remembered that his last season was the year I was born. The 50's/early60's Giants were like an All-Star team. ( I'm a fan of the Giants great history )

thanks for sharing that !

Jimbo - nice job on your G-Men !

JIMBO 02-09-2007 07:25 PM

Didn't mean to...

...steal your thunder. I love seeing different teams detailed by different coaches! maybe this will be the GIANTS post where everybody posts pics of their GIANTS. And then someone can start another team's post and so on and so on. Then newbies and vets alike can see everybody's interpretation of any particular team.

BTW, I really like those eyeballs!!!

Coach K-LO 12-11-2007 03:35 PM

this post could be moved to the new section.......oh, yeah right - BUMP

Nail on the Head

Jimbo hit the nail on the head about having all Giant team pictures under one post. The main goal here was to have people do this. Then we will see how many people put that team together and their art work.

MrMichigan
P.S As you can see, I already moved this post where it should be at.
