first board attempt
7 Attachment(s)
Here is my first try at making a board. Some years back I came across a foosball table on clearance at walmart for $20, and I haven't played it in a while, or was I really crazy about the starwars theme to it, so I decided to convert it to an electric football table. Thanks to pit couture for answering all of my motor questions!!! I'll add more pictures when I finish putting it together.

here is a picture of what my field will look like. I have access to a print shop, and am getting it printed tomorrow on vinyl. I'll post when I get it!

Awesome
I can't wait to see this bad boy up and completed. I think this is an awesome idea and I would love to play on that kind of field. Please keep us posted on the progress.

I got my field printed today!!!!! I need to use some adhesive or something to stick down the edges, and I may need to use both motors after all, since the pieces slowed down a bit with the cover on there with only one motor. Tonight I will finish up with the goal covers to hide the wiring, and will hopefully get my goal posts finished put together and painted. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should attach my goal posts to the field?
|
It depends...
...on how your goal post are made but if you're looking to temporarily stick them up for games then use poster tac (that blue putty). It will hold it securely in place during games and will easily come right off without leaving a mess...no residue!thmbsp$
|
Man!! I never thought about using that! That's a great idea!!! I'm off to walmart!
|
You can also try ordering from Miggle. I might be wrong but I think the base on there goal posts are on a magnet.
Coach J |
Those are the ones I use Coach J and I find that the magnets on them are kinda weak. That's why I use the putty.

Goal post

I use a magnet for the goal post. I bought some in a hardware store. $2.99 for three and they are pretty strong. I use a dowel that I put in the hole of the magnet and then place it in the goal post.

nebraska memorial stadium is done!

Here is my final product (I still have one motor attached to it, it seems to be moving a little better the more I tweaks the adjusting bolts underneath the board. Thanks for all your help on your questions you guys have answered for me. Feel free to comment and give any suggestions.
|
I used some texturized paint to give it that stone appearance that memorial stadium has. Also the green mat you can see just at the edge of the pictures is an actual section of field turf from memorial stadium from the mid 90's.
|
very nice!!!!!!
that is a awesome site to behold.my kansas jayhawks would be proud to play nebraska in that stadium.thmbsp$ thmbsp$

Thanks!! Hopefully they'd put up a few less than 76 points on me:)
|
Great job!
That's one fine looking stadium my friend. Where did you get the "Huskers" name plate on the outside of the field? What did you end up using to hold your goal post in place?
|
I ended up using the poster tack since it's not a metallic board, and I got the huskers name plates online. They're a chrome looking auto decall. They have them for a bunch of differen teams. I thought it would look kind of cool to have that on there to replace the sportscraft logo.
|
Kool! I'll PM you another time to get details on how you made the field cover.

tell me!!!!!! please
what did you make your field goals out of and how did you make them.
ronnie |
That looks great! I have one question though, can it run?
Michael |
I used wooden dowels for the goal posts and just painted them. Also, yes the board does run. This weekend I'll put up a youtube video and post it if you guys would be interested.
|
I put up a few videos on youtube with the board on it. It's two of the last 3 videos on my channel list. I'm still tweaking the adjustment bolts underneath to get the pieces to run consistant across the table. And I haven't tweaked any of my bases yet either, so I tested it with some of my fairly straight bases.

If that's the max...
...then it looks like you may have to add a second motor. Then again, I like a fast board.:)
DC |
Yeah I think I'll need to add that second one also. When it was just running on the board it went pretty fast, but that field cover slows it down a bit. I have a wedding today to go to, but I think tomorrow I'll hook up my second motor and see how it works.
