Old uniforms ( Love them )

That was the first thing i noticed. They are much better than the new ones. I love the gray fasemask

rjackson 12-01-2008 09:49 AM

That's that old.........

...........school 70's and early 80's look!! Classic!!!

jeff 12-01-2008 09:52 AM

They should be forced to wear those uniforms forever !

Treks1 12-01-2008 10:01 AM

Yep, what they said.

Exactly. These are real NFL jerseys. The new look is ok but they are too "pretty". This design just looks tougher, more like the NFL. I agree they should wear these jerseys all the time.

HOOP 12-01-2008 10:10 AM

caught my eye as well

but i gotta ask you guys, though the pic deosnt show it, on my TV last night - were those "purple" jerseys really blue with a purple tint?
a few closeups showed the stripes on the sleeves in between the yellow, were definitely purple and definitely a different color than the jersey.
reminded me of the old haiti vikings with the "blue" unis.
did anyone else see the same thing?

or is my HIDEF tele better than everyone else's?:rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl: (joke):rtfl: :rtfl: :rtfl:

You guys are...

such traditionalist! Haha. Those jersey's are great but they only look good on old school playing surfaces. Had the field been muddy or old school grass then maybe. Those uniforms only look nice with dirt on them.

GUTTMANN 12-01-2008 10:27 AM

You're right Mike!

Until they play outdoors like football was meant to play, you may as well wear shorts. A new stadium better be on the horizon soon, or we will lose them to San Antonio or North Carolina.

Michael,

The helmets were darker than the jerseys and the stripes were gold, purple, white, purple than gold again.

There's something to be said about old school uni's.

Sometimes I wonder what the designer of new uniforms is thinking about?
Same color jerseys and pants, no contrast, and sometimes a futuristic(?)
look. Bring back the 60's uniforms.$cch$

What I hate the most in recent uniforms are the seam stripes, the swoosh stripes, and underarm stripes.

Big numbers, solid colours, and big, thick stripes on the shoulders/arms and down the jerseys. That's what a football uniform should look like. I'd even go as far as some retro elements which we saw in the Detroit and Green Bay throwback uniforms in '94, which were the two classiest throwbacks on the field.

As for whichever mental defective designed the Oregon Ducks costume, the sooner that man is institutionalised, the better.

Super Vikes

Yes indeed. It is well known that I'm an old schooler with the unforms. That is by far the best Viking uniform ever. Those darker helmets and the snappy striping on the jersey, the bold pants stripes. It's a perfect uniform!

Hey, JOXINDABOX can produce this with no problem, right? I'm all over it!

Comin' at ya Marlon Brown! LOL!
