Duck, Duck, Duck... Goose!!!

Make that...
Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys... Chargers! Friends of mine know that I'm a die-hard Cowboys fan. But there was NO-WAY I was getting into the middle of this Dallas Cowboy Rumblefest; between Tony ('07 TBA Cowboys head coach), D.C. ('06 and former TBA Cowboys head coach), and the World Famous D-Legend (trying to get Tony to give up the franchise so he can be the '07 TBA Cowboys head coach). Even though I have lots of Cowboy squads, I thought it best to go a different direction so I used the San Diego Chargers. We all had a blast knock'n domes Saturday evening, and I loved how D-Legend, and D.C. shared their EF experiences and knowledge with Tony. On a personal note... I had the best time hanging out with D-Legend all day Friday, and Saturday evening. He's still the same ole Darrell... just a tremendous joy to be around. Here's a picture of D-Legend (striped shirt) announcing: "I'm BAAAAAAAAACK!!! |
Nice shot. Show us more pics of the divider in action. A lot of newbies have been asking about it and there are suprisingly few photos of it.

D.C. Checking out the action.

Here you go. From the Big 10 tourney, first shot is what you get. 2 guys setting up their players not knowing what fate awaits them. Second pic, here's what a player see's. He sets up his offense or defense hoping to cover anything that can be thrown at him. This helps to prevent stacking and makes the defense spread out. Last pic, once the divider is raised, this is what your defense or offense is up against.

After softening the defense with the air attack, D-Legend decides to throw D.C. a curve ball.
first pic: Looks like D-Legend is setting up a Power-Run!!! second pic: D.C. doesn't fall for the Old banana in the tail-pipe trick, because after the divider is raised we can all see that he's in a run defense. third pic: While setting up his defense, D.C. contemplates over what other tricks D-legend has up his sleeve. |
Deep pass...

San Diego vs. Dallas

On March 10, 2007 an old rivalry reared it's ugly head. OldSchool and D-Legend on the board just like old times.
first pic: After a viscious sack the Chargers find themselves on their own 14 yardline. second pic: Ladainian Tomlinson almost breaks a big one if not for the saving tackle by Roy Williams. Third pic: With the divider up OldSchool ponders being 81 yards away from the endzone. |
81 yards, The longview and the shortview.

first pic: OldSchool wondering whether Roy Williams can make that same touchdown saving tackle again.
second pic: Roy obviously didn't because this is the longview of Ladainian standing 81 yards away in the endzone. third pic: The shortview of Ladainian after his 81 yard jaunt. Fourth pic: The Chargers take over on defense. |
No rest for the weary...

Even though the Chargers finished the evening unscathed after a long night of battling. Coach OldSchool decides to put them though an unexpected mini-camp. Here in MY dungeon... MY teams have to be ready to workout, even after all the games have been played. If they can't get with the program, they need to go play for somebody else.
Special thanks to coach Tony who made my 5-man blocking sled, and my tackling-dummy drill pit. |

I hope these pictures give guys a glimpse of what it's like to play the divider style of football. Rarely do our plays end up in a rugby scrum. Because if you commit too many of your defenders to a stack style defense... You will get burned. I repeat... You WILL get BURNED!!! Another thing... unless you know your opponent's tendencies extremely well (IE, you can tell when he's running); play your safeties at passing depths and mix in some cover-2 zone. Continuously cheating your safeties up to play the run will get you burned in our league. The main reason is because most of our coaches are very competent passers. They will wait until their receivers are past your safeties before turning off the board even if it puts their receivers 40+ yards down field.   The flipside is... coaches will press you if they don't think you can pass all that well. The safeties will play close to help squash your running game and the short passing game, until you show that you can throw a consistant deep ball. All in all it's a fun style of play... no better or worse than any other style. Peace, Don |
Great stuff, Don. Good to see DC playing and great to see D-Legend back on the scene.

Excellent pics. Love the divider. I may have to buy one and give it a try.

Efl Action!!!!!!
Love EFL Action with pictures to boot!!!
Thanks for the post, Don. For all who thought it was going to be easy in Tidewater in June, well add another "ole" vet returns to the gridiron.... Welcome back D-Legend. K-Lo |
Great action Don!!!
I hope all the coaches can see how much fun the divider can be. I'm glad you taking care of Tony. I met him at last year's Brawl. Man does that guy love them Boys! I see he got all those custom figures he just had to have too. I'm glad he's still playing and active, I haven't heard from him. Tell him the NATIONAL one asked about him.
Darrell is back? Well that is great news. I hope he will be at the Brawl. I didn't get a chance to take a picture with the belt, ask D.C. if I can borrow it just for a minute to take a picture. CorEy with a "E" The reigning Prettyboy of EF/BB & undisputed king of NATIONALITY |

I am pretty stoked now, I ordered a divider and am excited to get it and try it out. The element of surprise is really something, you have to play smart football now. I never really thought I'd care for it but lately the more I see and hear the better it sounds to me.

Yes Shabby J, and to others, playing with the Strategy Divider keeps you on your toes, is a lot of fun, and acts like a huddle in real football. I own a Strategy Divider but the first time I actually played against someone using one was at The Seawall Brawl last June. Thanks for the pictures Don.
Coach J |
Don,
Thanks for putting up those pics. You got some good action going on down there. That needs to be recognized on this board. Wally |
