This will be the subcategory discussion for CBSMF Rules
While most rules of the Shootout and CBSMF are the same, there will be about a 10% change that needs to be discussed concerning the CBSMF ruleset.
So whenever there is discussion concerning rules on the college game, let it happen here. Reg |
Options
Reg what's the rule on the option play. Also what's the limit on RB in the back field on the option.

Raven Maniac...
How are you doing my friend? Here is the rule on the option play...
You are allowed a full house backfield, however on full house back fields only your QB may not assist in the blocking schemes and must be turned away from the play as if he is handing the ball off. On all other formations the QB may assist in blocking. On the option play this is the only multi-stop play allowed. You do not have to reveal that you are running the option until you're ready to pitch or pass the ball. Once the set is turned on and your players are running to the option side, you will get one stop. The pass clock starts immediately once the board stops. You will then have to say "option" so the pass clock stops. You do not have to say if you're going to pitch it or keep it at this stage. The defense immediately will adjust. Once the defense make his adjustments you will then have to make a decision to pitch it or keep it. After 10 yards the defense gets to adjust again. After your first stop you also have the option to pass the ball. You lose this option once you declare "option" and the pass clocks stops. I hope this has cleared it up for you! |

Does the offense make an adjustment on the stop of the option? Geno H |
Geno...
The offense does not get to make an adjustment. The defense only gets to make an adjustment to the unengaged players.

OK gotcha! Thanks

Another one
Mike thanks for the clarification. Here's another one for you. What's the limit on ITZ bases. Meaning are there any positions on the field you CAN'T have a ITZ ie. TE, WR, RB?
Darrian |
ITZ bases have no limit
You can use any ITZ base that you want to. There are no limits on the amount of ITZ bases that can be used on a team. However, there is a limit on the number of boat bases that can be used on a given play of 2 boats/arrows.
Reg |
also...
there are limits on the number of figures that you can use that have their arms extended. You can use no more than 2 figures on any given play that have their arms extended outward and no more than to 2 figures that have their arms extended upward. Arms may not be extended upward higher than the top of the ttqb

Cool

Raven...
The overhead and outward arms only apply to the defense. You can have as many WR's with arms upards as you like.

Boat Bases

CBSMF Rules
When I go to the CBSMF website and try to click on either versions of the rules, nothing happens.
If this is my problem, I would appreciate it if there was another way to get the rules (via email perhaps?). In the meantime, 2 questions: Is it offense in dark and defense in white and is there a limit to the total number of players? Thanks for your help. Joe G |
The CBSMF Rulebook
Joe, I will have something out by the end of the week with the rules. We're gonna be fine-tunning the final copy this week. We need your "eyes" as well to give it one last look-see. We're gonna have about 8 coaches giving it that final look through.
We are putting in the option rule with the full-house backfield and Michael Robertson is writing that part up. Once that is delivered, the rulebook with coaches suggestions will be finished. All we will need to do is do the final edit and once done, I will upload it to the CBSMF website. Answer to questions: Offense is in dark and the defense is in white. 60 player roster limit Reg |
How have cbsmf...
games already been played if the rule set is not even complete???
Are those contests scrimmages?? |
ARtlax, the PAC10...
started before April because of several reasons. Number 1, ERob, the commissioner is pretty organized and had already gotten his people in order. They are all paid up for the season.
Also, they have 10 plus years of Shootout Rules experience and was the driving force behind the option rule. They authored that rule along with Michael Robertson (SWC) so they were well-prepared to get their conference rolling. Plus, they will be doing something with ESPN and their time is very important to make sure that shoot works well for them. It would have conflicted with the start of their regular season so they wanted to start early. Right now, all I know is Walter Payton leads the NCAA in rushing and could be in contention for a Heisman Trophy. I know that East Carolina is 1-0-0 and leading the PAC10 behind Coach Rick Garrison who seems wired and pumped up! Some conferences will start earlier that others. But the key is the conferences that are still needing "Jamborees" to get accustom to the rules, we are here to help. I know you guys in the BAM have some knowledge but now we've got to make sure Geno (Big 12), G Hardmon (Big 10), K Boddie (ACC), and Joel P (SEC) and Biglock (Independent) get any necessary help they need. The actual ruleset will be out Friday but most of what you played with in the BAM will still apply here. The only major difference is within the option play and Michael Robertson is writing the "language" as we speak. Reg |
Thanks Reg
Was just curious how guys were playing without all the rules.
