Field Advice needed
 

I currently have a custom "big board" on order, but I also want to get a classic 620 as well. My question is which 620's should I be looking for?
What dimension width and length
What years
are there certain super bowl versions that are considered better than another
Since Miggle took over did they have certian years that are recomended?

Good job on ordering a big board! This post is near and dear to my heart, as I have a big board, but just last night took out my favorite vintageTudor 620 and tweaked up the teams that came with it, Rams vs. Cowboys, still in their sealed bags after all these years and have been having a blast. Of all the vintage 620's I own, the one below is my favorite.

I have been so involved in building my CBSMF team, tweaking and scrimmaging on big boards for the upcoming season that I forgot just how magical an ironman scrimmage on a vintage 620 can be. I have said this before, I believe it is EF in it's purest form. I know we promote the hobby now as MF, but when I hold an ironman scrimmage on a vintage 620, it's called Electric Football. :fghttt:

Here is my favorite vintage 620, they are found quite frequently on Ebay, I have three, all from Ebay and all from different sellers, the fields were always flat, no crowns and the motors always quiet and powerful.

Stay away from the Miggle brand 620, please.

A standard "620" field is appx 37"x20" outside dimensions rail to rail, give or take a fraction of an inch, the play surface inside dimensions from rail to rail are appx 35.5"x 18.25".

Do yourself a favor and get a vintage board, it's pure magic.

Thanks for the reply, but how do I know a field is a vintage 620, Is it basically any 620 sold before Miggle took over?

I would try to bid on one of the following fields. All of these are TUDOR products from the past.

1. 620 Blue end zone ( Shabbys photo above)
2. 620 yellow end zone
3. 620 Chiefs/Vikings end zone
4. 620 Grass end zone ( My favorite) 1967,68,69 thmbsp$

Any of these in good condition should work well.
Just my opinion.
