Blocking on offense
We've just added this to our rules: After a WR or RB catches the ball and is angled, All offensive players (not engaged with a defensive player) can be turned to block for the ball carrier. Then the defense can turn their unengaged players. This is done also on a running play: If the RB has the ball and is running, you can stop the switch and adjust the RB (If he is no more than 7 yds. past the line of scrimmage) then players can block as stated above.
Anyone else plays like this? We've scrimmaged with this new rule and it opens up the running game. |
I like this.. Ive always wondered why we play that the offense doesnt get to throw blocks downfield , but the defense gets to make all the adjustments.

I like it
After the catch the receiver can be angled and any unblocked defensive player can go after him.I like that rule and will use in my rule set!!

yes I find this a fun way to play. One way to add this wrinkle and still keep the pace of the game fast is to allow 3 players max (both offense and defense) to be adjusted on the stoppage. It can get to be a slow game when manipulating every player multiple times in one play and there are usually only a few primary players that can have an impact anyway.

Now that sounds like something worth trying.thmbsp$

GREAT IDEA
JOHN,
This idea will open up the game for a player to get addl yardage. This is actually thee second or third stop in the MPFL system. Players can block when the board stops. MANTARAYDRE |
long time being done...
we (BEFL) have been doing this for some time. Works great for running screen plays and stuff.
