620 or Rose Bowl Board?
 

I tried posting this yesterday but I don't think I did it right . . . I'll try again. I have Miggle's Original Electric board and a 620. It seems like players move a bit more smoothly on the Original board than the 620. It looks like their newer Rose Bowl board is made the same way as their original board, only bigger.

So, here's my question: Of those of you who have played on both the 620 and the Rose Bowl Board, which do you like better? Do players move better on the Rose Bowl board? Thanks, Brian

It depends on the sound and the speed at which you run them. Guys should at least run 40 yards in 4 seconds or less. Any longer than that (remember the Miggle/NFL Films clip???), it's not fast enough. Some leagues emphasis 70 yards (from the Kick Off team's 30 yard line) in 4 seconds or less. Oh yeah, WITHOUT the guys falling over, obviously. ;) Now, once you get that down, you'll have to compare the noise. Speed and noise are the 2 factors. Good luck.

One tip that really helps bring then noise level down is the cord, right where it comes out of the motor box, try turning the board on to a speed you like, then move the cord around you may find that when the cord is in a certain position the motor is quieter.

If so, then get some duct tape and tape the cord in that position to the rail.

When I move the cord on my 620, it will either speed up or slow down! BTW, my mechanical skills are challenged past the point of spreading jelly on toast. I'll see what I can do with that duc tape. Thanks, Brian

If you choose to run on a 620, find yourself an older one, say one that was made around 1970, they are much better and quieter.

I've got one from about 1979. I'm not sure its a 620. It's a bit smaller. It's a Tutor Super Bowl Board, one with the NFC AFC endzones. I'm letting a friend use it right now. The board's a bit bouncy and there's dead spots. Thanks! Brian

I'm not refering to the one from 1979. What I'm talking about is one from say 1969,1970,1971, it looks very similar to Notre Dame's home field. The 620 from this era IMO is the best running 620. This board has nothing in the end zone, except diagnol lines.

MOVIN UP FOR ANY QUESTIONS

Unfortunately I don't own a Rose Bowl board so I am unable to comment on it. On the flip side I totally agree with what RPD said regarding the older 620 gameboards. I purchased an older 620 about seven or eight years ago. Don't know the year but both endzones are yellow and with NFL painted in both endzones as well. I also used duct tape to tape the cord. All I had needed to do was put binder clips around the board to get rid of the crown. I have the newer Miggle 620 but would not recommend it. My older 620 runs MUCH better and is the one that I play on. Hope that helps.
