Size of custom made boards?

Hi Guys,

My Dad and I are thinking about building a custom board as a Father-son project. We are trying to determine what the size should be, so I wanted to ask . . .

has anyone ever built a custom board that is about the size of a 620 or 660? Is there much cost difference in materials from that and just upgrading to a 48x24? All the custom boards I see here seem to be rather large. Thanks, Brian

that will be a fun project!

there is a set of instructions in one of the back issues of "the tweak". It has dimensions and estimated costs.... This is only one persons method, I am sure there are many other ways to "skin a cat". There is a very detailed thread on this forum one coach made while making his big board that looks very informative

best of luck

I think if you are going to take the time and effort, make it bigger than a standard field, go 24"x48". Sheet metal or fiberboard costs will not be that much more, nor will the wood for the frame.

Just my opinion.

Sounds like fun either way. thmbsp$
