I can't remember which game it was, but I had just turned 13, it was COLD as all get out and Da BEARS were losing.

This lady, 2 or 3 rows in front of me and about 5 seats to the left, leaned over the banister and just ripped one of the players a new one. Called him all kinda "fat, black and useless" obscenities she and her cold beers could think of. All of a sudden, this guy, who was sitting on the bench, just dog tired from playing in the cold, wet conditions - snapped! Faster than I could blink my eye, he leaned over, yanked off his size 15 cleat and whipped it at this lady. It hit her square in the chest and I swear she flew back 3 rows! Suffice it to say she shut-up!

That guy was...

The New York Giants

Bill's Favorite Players:

Offense: Tiki Barber. One of the finest running backs of all time. Could run, block, catch and consistently rip off 15-20 yd carries each week. Only player to lead in total yards three straight years. The heart of a Giants team that did not fulfill it's promise.

Defense: Lawrence Taylor: All Pro. Last Def. Player to be NFL MVP (1986). Played hard, but was a very clean player. Forced coaches to run plays away from his side and into the arms of Harry Carson (HOF), Pepper Johnson, and Carl Banks who were actually better linebackers than Taylor was.

Not on My Team:

Offense:
Barry Sanders: The name speaks for itself.

Defense:
Ronnie Lott: I'll never forget Mark Bavaro over the middle on Monday Night Football in Dec. 1990. He catches the ball...sees Ronnie Lott coming...and runs out of bounds. Earlier in the game, Lott knocked Bavaro sensless. Payback for the "Monday Night Ride" of 1986. When you put fear into Mark Bavaro, the buck stops with you.

That Wasn't a Star

Raiders: Morris Bradshaw #81...saw him score 2 long TD's for Ohio State vs Wisconsin...first college football game I remember. He was a favorite ever since.

Robbie Bosco: He didn't play a snap in the NFL for the Packers (outside of preseason), I just remember him hobbling out on one leg to beat Michigan and give BYU the national championship in 1984.

Jim Herrmann: The defensive captain of that BYU team (Steve Young's roommate and best man) married an extremely nice gal from our high school. He's from a neighboring town. Great guy...has helped us out for charity events. Played some for the Cowboys and Patriots.

Jeff Siemon: Stand up guy...was our adult Sunday School teacher. As great of a player as he was, he is 3x the man.
