Jersey Number Help

Who are some of the best NFL running backs from any era to wear any of the following jersey numbers: 23 25 27 45 47? I'm looking for running backs only.

RavennaAl 04-13-2007 08:04 PM

#27 Eddie George of the Tennessee Titans

#45 Jim Bertelsen of the LA Rams from early 70's

I'm not 100% sure, but #47 Larry Smith of 70's Redskins

#47 Ronnie Coleman, Oilers 70's
# 25 Roland Hooks Bills 70's
#23 Don Mccauley colts 70's
#27 Joe Washington Colts 70's
#25 Gordon Bell Giants 70's
#25 Horace King Lions 70's
#25 Benny Malone Redskins and Dolphins 70's
#47 Sherman Smith seahawks 70's
#45 Archie Griffin Bengals 70's

That's all I have . Why could you not pick # 34 or #32? :D

Thanks, Al and Jeff! This helps.

I don't know how I forgot about Eddie George!

Unique Numbers

I am stumped! I don't know anyone off the top of my head - RBs at least with those numbers, except Eddie G., but Al got him. Time to do some research.

23 Garrison Hearst (AZ); Ted Brown (MIN); Michael Bennett (MIN);
25 Joe Washington (WASH); Dorsey Levens (GB); Brad Muster (CHI)
27 Rodney Hampton (NYG); Ron Dayne (NYG); Brandon Jacobs (NYG);
45 Mike Sellers (WASH); TJ Duckett (ATL);
47 Chris Cooley (WASH);

Frank, #47 in the early 70's was Duane Thomas, not Larry Smith of the Redskins. Sorry about that. :(

Cappelletti was #25 with the Chargers, but wore #22 when he played for the Rams.
