My wife Rose is always shaking "The Box" at...
 

college and high school football games.

I pick my wife Rose up yesterday from the Park and Ride and she's as she hops in the car, she is on the cellphone discussing with with someone else injury report of my son's high school football team. They go on to talk about about pass blocking protection and what she thinks is the reason a kid got hurt the other night.

We go to a high school game later that night and she sees a kid limp off the field for 5 plays. She whispers to me, 3-3 and 5, meaning minor injury, 5 plays. Something later on happens in the game where a fumble occurs. She said "Bowie just shook the box and came up snake eyes!"

This is all from a woman who is a corporate executive, has a huge role in the high school booster club, and now does not have a son on the football (I had him removed from the team). We can sit at home and watch college, pro or even the other night, high school football, and she thinks in term of shaking the box.

If you ever get a chance to talk shop with Rose, she knows more than the average bear. I guess after all the years of hanging around a sports junkie, it has to rub off on you. This is what I get.

For the uninformed, "The Box" is a box containing sets of dice that determine the outcome of certain plays in regards to penalties, fumbles etc...

Some profess magical properties, pleasure and pain exist in, "The Box". :D
