1976 Bucs All Stars : D. Selmon and D. Logan

Hi,

Here a special project I'm making for a friend of mine ;)

2 "all star-like" customized figures, based on ff.net figs : Dewey Selmon #58 and David Logan #76. All with muscles, faces and old school jerseys.

I started with Dewey Selmon, who was a linebacker. So I tried to make a typical "snap observing" LB pose, based on a offensive center fig.

Here's the first pics of the first rough modifications I modified the stance (legs spacing), feet position, arms, hands and head position too, to give the figure a "snap moment" position.

As usual, I try to make playable figs too, with good balance.

Being balanced is key

Yeah it's nice having a cool looking fig, but if you can't get a base to run on it, it's almost useless. So you need a fig to practical & balanced.

As for your selection of players. Both those guys were good, but Dewey's brother Lee Roy Selmon #63 is an NFL Hall of Famer who was as good as there was in his era. He played DE.

Dewey was a LB.
Logan was a DT

I'm not sure if it's Leroy, or Lee Roy and I think he's the only Buc to be inducted into the HOF

I didn't select the players, so... :rtfl:

I'm trying to figure it out on each fig, thinking of the position on the field, and the bases I've got and how they react thmbsp$

I finished the other fig rough pose. I made him in defensive lineman rushing position, to bring a contrast with the LB.

I used 2 figs for it : a very low wide receiver body and the chest of a lineman. I choosed a low leg assembly to bring the fig some good stance.

Here's the pics !

Can't wait to see them painted up !!!! ppls$

actually...

I will not paint them : I'll "just" customize, re-sculpt (faces, chinstraps, muscles, jersey, belly, etc...) and undercoat them ;)

Hi,

This week end I 've been too busy to finish the figs, but today I worked on it.

An important thing when you customize figs,, is the preparation stage. Before I'll start muscles and face sculpting, I fixed the figure shape on the zones I cutted or glued, and defects with some modelling paste.

I'll continue tomorrow ;)

Muscle men

:D

Today I add the muscles on the figs. I didn't detail the top of them, since the top of the arms will be covered by the jersey (old school 76's). But I wanted to make hulk/pro wrestling muscles, since it works so well with the ff.net figures.

Tomorow I'll make the old school jersey and perhaps the faces. Finally, I will also paint the skin of it.

I believe if one day I propose customizing service, I'll offer ready to paint figs (with just a coat of primer) and skin prepainted figs too (since a well executed skin tone is quite technic to achieve).

Here's the pics :
