My first two figures - Sterling Sharpe and Ahman Green!
 

Thanks to everybody who gave me photography tips in the "Beginner" forum - the "Macro" setting on my camera did the trick! Here are a few pics of my first two figures ever - they don't hold a candle to some of the great work I've seen from the rest of you, but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out for my first effort.

I'm putting together an "all-time" Green Bay team - I started off with Sterling Sharpe and Ahman Green. Let me know what you think!

great start! What kind of clear coat you got on those figures though? Seems a little bumpy. You can finish those off with delta ceramcoat matte, semi-gloss, or gloss and it will smooth out the finish.

Finishing coat - Modge Podge glossy

I used Modge Podge glossy finish... I thought it looked kinda bumpy too. I bought that cause of a few tips I got a couple years ago.

NOOOoooooooooo! Not Modge Podge! Modge Podge is a glue. You may want to put a coat of Delta Creamcoat (or similar product) matte, semi gloss, or gloss finish on top of that like Joe suggested. It will really improve the finished product.

You should try Arts, modelling/figures dedicated varnish :

For example, Artistic acrylic mediums (mat or gloss) are great with brushes : dry fast, never yellow, and sturdy. Miniatures acrylic varnishes are basically acrylic mediums, by the way.

If you prefer spray can varnish, there is good products too on the market, but be carefull with decals because some spray can varnishes "eat" decals"...

Thanks everybody... I'll try the acrylic gloss finishes instead of the Mod Podge :) Gotta run out and buy some tomorrow; I'll post pictures of my next figure with the different coat!

you can also try mix gloss and mat varnish : mat for clothes and skin, gloss for helmets. It gives the figure a more realistic look , in my opinion. But it's especially a question of personal taste. ;)
