Xtra color on accessories
 

wow, what all teams used chinstraps and or facemask that were NOT the plain old gray. i know they mostly went to white at first, but then it was so cool when teams started using colors. i remember the rams and chargers going to yellow facemasks for a while back in the day. what are some other facemask colors used by teams ?
what all different chinstrap colors have been uses, and by what teams.

to me, being the age i am, i love the plain gray facemask, and the plain white chinstrap, .....BUT, adding the color to some teams just seems the right way to go. like the steelers and their black facemask, man, when that came out, those helmets were just "menacing".

oh yeah, the loudest ever to me was the ORANGE that the bucs used...lol

Looking back at some of my old football cards from the early 80's here is what I found as far as facemask colors.

About half were still gray but...

Yellow: Chargers, Redskins
Orange: Bucs
Green: Packers
Blue: Rams, Bills (MY FAVORITE - the blue mask on white helmet)
Teal: Dolphins
Red: Oilers
Black: Bengals, Steelers, Saints
White: Chiefs, Broncos, Jets, Giants, Falcons, Vikings, Colts

As for the chinstraps, it was about 50/50. Either all white or white straps with gray chin pad. Didn't notice any colored straps or pads during that era.
