Hi,

I added a little modelling article today :

http://miniaturefootball.org/2010/07...delling-flock/

It will help you to make your own free modelling flock. Usefull for figures plateforms (the technic is explained in another painting tutorial I wrote), display dioramas and scenery, gameboard sidelines and scale stadiums.

If you need help or explanations, feel free to ask ;)

an example of figures plateforms with modelling flock on it

No thank you!!!

Love your OL!

For someone that had all the artist talents growing up. I went to art camps, and schools. I did all the artwork (with the art teacher) for my elementary school,. ie school plays. Drawings, paintings, sculpting all the way thru HS then I went into construction. My parents was like do you want to go to art school? My dad was a foreman so I had an in. I took the money!:dohdh:
But I say all that to say this. For a guy that had talent, I suck at painting men, and make figs!!!!! lffng$

It's all about technics and tips. You can read my tutorials on mfca.org, you'll see that special effects are simple most of the time. The secret is just to find the secret for each job part.

If you're patient and practice, you'll obtain results. If you learned arts at school (light, colors interaction, washes, translucent effects, glazes, mediums, etc... etc...) you just have all the tools to become one of the best painters around.

It reminds me one other french guy, well known in miniature figures painting contests : the guy started to paint figures to quit smoking, he was about 40 or 50years old. He practiced just a few years, and now, he's one of the best miniature painters in the world, far (I mean, far far far :D ) better than me.

Just finished making a batch of the flock to try for myself and WOW!

I can't believe how easy this was to do and how good it looks. I'm going to use it to surround the playing field of our budget monster board, and will certainly use some on our bases!

Thanks for sharing this Dimitri! thmbsp$ thmbsp$ thmbsp$

p.s.: My local hardware store was happy to give me a very large bag of sawdust! :rtfl:
