Dumb question?

Guys I am getting back into playing again after 25 years and I keep seeing people talk about Solitaire play. Now, this being a lone player, how do you make it fair without making one team better than the other?

Try a random draft or split the well performing bases equally. Just a thought.

Solitaire Play

Chris,

Welcome back to the hobby. To play solitaire EF, check a few post back. Guys gave some good advise. Also, I made offensive play cards and defensive play cards. I pluck cards to determine which offense and defense to run, then what ever happens, happens!

dividem bases up randomly. have a season at the end allow each to graduate players but back in box and do it again for rules try anything that you enjoy..

Draft the bases randomly, then tweak them and work with them. Come up with 1 or 2 plays for each team and basic plays for all teams. I play 10 game seasons, use NFL divisions, play each team in division twice, 2 games against same conference, 2 games vs other conference. What I do is the base belongs to the player once he has it, not the team. This way when NFL players change teams, so do my guys. If you have poor performing bases, at the end of the season, draft others and work with those.

I would suggest picking bases at random as was mentioned in previous replies and I would do this before each game. For example flip a coin before each game. Whoever wins the coin toss picks the first base then just go back and forth. Similar to how we chose sides when playing football as kids. You may also want to contact Ravenna Al.

here are a couple items I used in the past to play.......

1 - Tweak all your teams to be good teams
2 - give each team their own identity with special plays or players after the first tweak session.
3 - setup defense as if you are playing someone else.... you don't really know what they are doing so use that to play it honest...
4 - call completions / incompletions the same for both teams
5 - use the miggle clock (if you have one) to be the time keeper... it's a good pace for solitaire football
6 - keep stats to add to the fun .... when you look back on the season, you will be shocked to see the numbers.
7 - if you have a divider - use it
