The 2008 Hoosier Heartland Invitational is on April 19th at the Ramada Inn in Logansport, Indiana. It is a electric football tournament to raise money for the Boy Scouts here in Logansport. However, the 2008 Pinewood Derby is Saturday and I finally got my Derby Car completed for the open racing for the Adults...does anybody think this car will win? It has to be the first Derby car with a football play in action, a scoreboard and jumbo tron in the background. If I had room I would put some refs and cheerleaders on the car! I am not sure how to paint the wheels yet, but one thing is for sure...this baby has some weight to it!

Just so everyone in the electric football community knows...registration is now open for this event and rules will be posted on the MFCA forum on Saturday (I will also mail them out 3 weeks before the event). I hope some of you guys can make it down, it should be a fun afternoon. But if you can't make it and you still would like to donate to our cause, then drop me an e-mail or call me at 574-722-1204....thanks for looking...

Football and Pinewood Derby...they can go together...

No weight limit in this class I am running in and as far as drag...well the thing is liable to take off like an Indy car...I am looking forward to seeing it race, but the point is not to win the race...it is to promote the hobby. I am hoping to get some Dad's to notice that this hobby still exist and maybe pickup some more coaches for our league...:)

Matt, better be sure that the extension cord for that thing is longer than the race track is! :rtfl:

Matt,
My son and I just participated in this derby too. We put an EF figure in as the driver, but yours is takes it to another level. Looks good.

Paint the wheels brown with a whitewall strip around the sidewall. Give it that old schoolyard football look. You remember those footballs we had as kids with the white stripes around each end.

Scoreboard

To bad that scoreboard was only a picture. It would have been great if it was a working scoreboard for this hobby.
