Here is the history. When I have more time I'll explain my beginnings as Weirdwolf.

It was in old Municipal Stadium, the Chiefs first home in Kansas City after their move from Dallas in 1963, that the Wolfpack began!

The Wolfpack was a group of the rowdiest Kansas City Chiefs Fans seated in the temporary bleacher seats directly behind the players’ benches. In Municipal, both the Chiefs and the opponents’ benches were on the same sideline, so it became an advantage for the Chiefs to have the Wolfpack behind the opponents. The Chiefs record in Municipal Stadium was 44-16-3

So why were they called the Wolfpack?
It started when Kansas City Chiefs play by play announcer Tom Headrick pointed out that there was a large group of fans that sat together near one of the endzones and always wore red. They were rabid fans and he remarked that they resembled a wolfpack.

The name stuck.

The Wolfpack today only exists in name. There is still a Wolfpack club but it is only for those who have tickets that allow them into the Arrowhead Pavilion. A far cry from the rowdy, blue collar, brave all fans that started the tradition.

Weirdwolf represents the spirit of the original Wolfpack and brings that spirit back to life in the endzones of Arrowhead stadium where we continue to make Arrowhead the loudest stadium in the NFL!!

The Unofficial Origin of WEIRDWOLF...

Here's my thoughts on how mild mannered Lynn Schmidt became the Ultrafanatical Weirdwolf...

Have you guys ever heard of the 5th Beetle? Weirdwolf was actually the 5th member of KISS. Jean Simmons, Ace Freeley, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss wanted Lynn's original costume colors to be Black, white, and silver so he could match the rest of the group. Lynn let out a thunderous howl, and yelled "He** NO!!! You guys are not making me wear Raider colors EVER!!! Lynn wouldn't compromise his luv for the Chiefs (or hatred of the Raydas), not even for the fame and fortune of the music industry. So the guys held a quick meeting and promptly kicked The "WOLF" out of the band... mumbling something about him being WEIRD. Not to be deterred, Lynn decided since he put so much effort into his costume which was bright red, yellow, and white that he would continue his mission of striking down those Raydas while preserving the honor of his beloved Chiefs.

Thus the Legend of WEIRDWOLF was born!!! :D :D :D
